In addition to carpentry work I also make concrete countertops. As I delivered a small table top to a client this week they had the opportunity to view the inside of my van. The client was so impressed with the organization that he committed to have me help them with a major kitchen upgrade they are planning! This one job will likely justify my time and expense of my van build out; just like the other 10 or 15 jobs before it!
I only have one opportunity to make a first impression, it better be a great one! I've found that the condition of the vehicle and the arrangements of tools is generally an indicator of the quality of the work a tradesman (or woman) produces. I'm often stopped at the lumber yard or on job sites by other tradesmen who, when seeing the inside of my van, compliment my organization and sometimes ask to take pictures!
