Mercedes Metris (Vito)

Wondering if our European friends that have a MB Vito and can comment on them? I have the option to order one for 93.2% of MSRP which is pretty good considering it hits the streets here in october! I saw them all over in Germany when I was there last month and they look like the perfect size! Just would like to know about the reliability, any quirks you hate about them etc would be greatly appreciated? The metris is identical to the Vito except we get the non diesel engine :(

My Transit Connect has been awesome, however it just spent 2 weeks in the shop due to random issues/22 recalls and my confidence in it has faded pretty significantly. The nail in the coffin for me is the fact that ford would not provide me a rental van which is really piss poor considering its a COMMERCIAL VAN

I've been driving Vito's since the 90's, I have never had any other van. I have has issues with them all but nothing major and no recurring issues. Mercedes Benz UK, France, Italy and Spain have all given me excellent after sales service and have always given me a loan vehicle if there have been issues. All countries in Europe have given me 15% off the purchase price but I think they inflate them by 10% anyway.
From my experience I would say good choice

In the UK they are renowned for rusting. I've seen 2 or 3 year old vitos with significant amounts of rust on them.

It's a poor show that Your Ford garage don't offer a loan van. I'm pretty sure my local Ford garage does. The VW garage certainly does.
