I got my wife’s support. Can you please share the font as well as the vinyl type and color?
I spent so much time awhile ago making the font by hand for every letter number of festool. Getting just the right colors of vinyl too. I can't remember it all. I just type it in to my system now and they are processed. The font really takes time to alter. Festool does something extra with all the characters as opposed to the normal font guidelines. I altered vectors and spent a lot of time doing it. It was something I didn't think was worth it, but it is worth it.
The font is a story apart. It is an Italian design, originally called
Microgramma (early fifties), which was caps only. Its 'successor', called
Eurostile, has an extensive set of glyphs, including lowercase. To confuse everyone, there is also a later version of Microgramma that has an extended set of glyphs too. Plus it has been altered by licensees, such as Letraset, to reflect contemporary taste and such. Which version has been used in the Festool logo I can not tell.
Anyone who has seen some sc-ifi movies and tv-series will be familiar with it. It has been in lots of them. 'Moon' (2009) by David Bowie’s son Duncan Jones, with Sam Rockwell, is a great example. And that also has smilies!
(BTW There are freeware digital files available for the font, so there is no need to draw it yourself if you do not want to spend money on the official stuff.)
