Title: Festool Transportation Survey
Post by: c_dwyer on August 12, 2021, 07:54 PM
Did anyone else get a Festool Work Truck Survey via email with nearly half of the answers already filled in?  Sure made it easy to finish, although most of the answers weren't accurate for me.

I got the survey buy my questions were all unanswered and worked like a normal survey.  [blink]

I got the email but didn't follow the link to the survey yet.

Since they've done all the work for me I might as well take
it easy and let them finish.  [big grin]

Couple of screwed up questions on it. EX- which other type of cases do you carry on a regular basis?  Four other brand choices, but no option not to pick any of them.

Mine was mostly filled,
I think it takes from the last survey ,and auto fills.

I did take a previous survey ,maybe that’s it

Mine was filled in too. I was able to make changes. Agree with Seth, regarding other brands of cases. Should have had an “other” category.

I got the survey, but I’m not a mobile pro using a truck, so I didn’t go farther than the first question.

Same here.

Although I briefly considered responding as if I were someone who had a van and a ton of Systainers but no use whatsoever for the new Systainer3 Bott rack system...

Nope, mine was filled in and I never filled one out before.  Since choices were limited, and since they already thought they knew the answers, I just deleted mine.

    @DerickC

The fact that it is "pre-filled" doesn't mean anything. The answers can be changed by simply clicking a different one.

In addition to the "cases" question there is another one that is a follow up to the prior that just doesn't work either.

I realize that surveys can be and are set up to yield certain responses and info, but parts of this one will just give Festool erroneous information.

Ya, I was sent 2 of the surveys, one on the 10th and a second on the 12th. But the real weird thing is that if you take the survey, you can click on it again and you'll be able to fill it out a 2nd time, or a 3rd or a 4th.  [tongue]  This could yield some pretty skewed results. With Survey Monkey you can only take the survey once and then you're locked out.

I mean, the first question should probably have been "Are you a mobile professional?"

And then moved on from there.  They could even ask slightly modified questions for hobbyists who use their car to transport tools to the houses of friends and family.

Because, honestly, the Sys-Roll is pretty handy to have and not terribly awkward to put in a car, but a CT-Mini/Midi might be a better mobile choice for stacking a small quantity of tools for running somewhere in a car.

It's just as valuable to know how many of your customers aren't mobile professionals as those who are, even if the survey is tacitly looking for information about partnering with another company on a product or installation.

As I'm a member here I also got the survey. I thought the vehicular options where quite limited and I had to think for a while if I should call my bicycle a pickup truck or a cargo van. Since pickups are more an American thing I settled on the latter. For brand I chose "other" and filled in Gazelle. Darn good bikes.

I was a bit baffled by the suggestion you can only bring one single large tool with you in your vehicle. I've been known to carry the CS70 and the CT Mini on my bicyle, so I guess my options with an actual cargo van would be even less constricted. I might even be tempted, one day, to bring a CT vac, a Kapex AND a Planex along on a single ride. Daring, I know, but nevertheless. Live life in the fast lane, I always say.

It was a very poorly designed survey.  I would not want to rely on it for any real information.  Clearly the survey designer does not use a vehicle for moving tools!
