I am working on a little jig suggested by @ChuckM ... thank you for the idea

This is still a prototype and the final jig will be a lot different.

I made it first to be hold with two fence clamps

but I add a quick lock button under the jig also

I offset the jig on the left, to give me more room to push through.

This gave me a new capacity of almost 21" from 10" (depending on how high is the blade, the lower the longer)


Final jig is coming soon 

First alteration: Where the table saw and the jig meet on the last picture, I need to make a notch. To be able to remove the miter gauge from that end instead of pushing it all the way in the front.

Second alteration: A 2" 2-1/2" hole on the back left corner, to have a visual of the table saw switch  (third picture)

Any idea if the Jessem gauge could be used with something like the Incra Mitre-Express?  I'm presuming it should and that would also increase cut capacity with clamping support for the workpiece?

I'm not sure the Incra Mitre-Express can be used in conjunction with the Jessem Miter Gauge Excel II. It look more like another beast in itself. Look to me that it is a heavy piece that would tilt easily if pulled back too far.

As for workpiece support, in my case I have a sliding table. To me I don't need additional support unless I go BIG. Here a picture at the locked position.


It can be pulled back over ~42"


This is the jig prototype holding 3 M18 drills without any help. The knob was not engaged.
