I hardly missed a minute of the recent series tuning in at 6am here, but this series could be tough. I think the matches start at 9pm my time!

Both sides have won 31 series and drawn 5, so this is the tiebreaker. I reckon we'll make it 4 wins in a row. You must be starting to feel like I did in the 90s! Bell, Cook, Prior, Broad and Jimmy to do the job once more.

Day one, and dominate English bowling again tests the Australian openers, again leaving the middle order to try and salvage some respectability in Australia's first innings run total. Already sounding like the test series in England. Oh dear!   [sad]

All finished at 6pm down here, listened whilst I worked, didn't hear all the opening 'disaster' though as I was belt sanding.

I went to bed miserable at 89/7.

It's like the 1990s all over again. I suppose it will make the series more interesting, but I was never fooled by the 3-0 score in England. The series was much closer than the score suggests.

Anyway, a long way to go yet.

Day 3

 [big grin]

Just out of interest, you guys in Canada and UK listening to BBC radio, watching on free to air/cable or both [as in vision with  sound replaced by radio], or Tablet/phone?

I tend to have radio only while I work.

Yes looks like one to us, finally.

The 'experts' on Australian Broadcasting Commission Radio are predicting Adelaide to be a draw due to the way the wicket has been behaving for local games in recent weeks, and that the next real test will be Perth. We will see.

It's just plain awful. I can't understand why England have collapsed so badly. Getting out again and again to terrible shots, missing catches, etc. Hopefully, they'll change it before Perth.

I can't understand it, it must be the massive home advantage. That's sport, just not nice on this side of the fence.

On another post I presented information regarding the dietary needs of the English team.
There is some sarcasm in the Australian press that  food and bowling are giving the English team indigestion!   [big

But the bad news is that the Boxing Day Test at the MCG has now lost some gloss.

Congratulations to young Stokes on a fine century.

91092, a world record attendance for a test match was set at the Melbourne Cricket Ground today for the first day of the fourth test, Aust vs England, the traditional Boxing Day Test.

No I was not one of them.

5-0, whilst I am very, no extremely happy, it is also a shame because what I like about test cricket is the strategy, the often close wins and how each test can be seen to be won or lost, or  then turn around.

Looking fwd to much closer future Tests with England. Sth Africa next for us.

You will not hear from me regarding one day and 20/20 during next two months of our summer. I follow, but they do not excite to same degree.

Crickets?  I hear them year round... every day.  Katydids as well.  Cicadas sneak in with their screeching as well.
Oh! Are those the crickets we are talking about here?  [unsure]

Sure am, yes those crickets that live in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, India, SriLanka,   England, infact  most ex colonies of the UK, even US and Canada. Those Colonial Brits certainly spread those 'crickets' around! [big grin]

The only cricket I know anything about is this:

109596-0

His name is Jiminy - and he's no fool! ( now the US folks will have that song going through their heads all day long...)
