I bought the Carvex, over the Trion, simply because of weight. Have you ever held the two side-by-side? The difference is incredible.
Yes and then I bought the Trion. Overhead use has been very rare for me anyway and in normal use the weight is a bonus to me.
But it was either PS300 or PS400 at much higher price while I already owned the guide rail adapter for the PS 300.

The group has been awesome, I have learned a ton. Full disclosure, I live in the slice of Ohio the federal government stole from Michigan so Ohio could have the port at Toledo, so I bleed maize and blue 😃

Festool Tools & Accessories / Re: MFT/3 for cutting accurately small plywood sheets with fine cuts
« Last post by Birdhunter on Today at 08:49 PM »I watched a video comparing 3 MFT hinges including the Festool unit. I ordered the DashBoard unit. I’m really looking forward to trying it. For the record, I’ve only had one issue with the Festool hinge. That’s when a bolt loosened up. Easily fixed.

« Last post by ironchefboyardee on Today at 08:20 PM »Hi, here is and oldie but goodieThis is smart. I might have to make the MFT/3 hole larger to accommodate my chamfer bit, but it doesn't seem harder than making a special plate or table top. I need to look around and see how to get a fence attached to the MFT/3, but I don't think that'll be too hard.
If its your only trimmer I would look at just making a slightly bigger base and then wither mortising it in the table or an extension. If you dont want to cut into the mft a piece of scrap wood with some laminate is all thats really need.I'll give this some thought. I might be able to just find a ready made plate to save some time and borrow a Shaper Origin to directly route out the relief and hole for the router.
