A Rockler Dust RIGHT Cord and Hose Holder. It doesn't swing around like the Festool Dust Extractor boom, but it's much less expensive and might serve until I can build my own out of PVC.

Some Makita old style systainer knock-offs and some Kaizen foam to organize them. We'll see how that works.

A cheap sound meter off of Amazon. I'm going to measure the sound of different tool combinations in my shop. I'm still wondering if I can get away without ear protection for a CT 36 and ETS EC 150/3.

Some Mirka interface pads for my ETS.

Some quantum tilt out bin sets for small parts.

This is my first full summer in my new shop. I have 8" insulated walls. The other day it was 87* outside, my shop was 74*, way too warm for my liking. So today I picked up this window AC unit. I was originally going to go all out with a Mitsubishi ductless wall mount AC unit. But I'm gonna give this little guy a try before dropping the coin on the Mitsubishi unit. This is a little big box store number that didn't break the bank.

This past Saturday I visited my local woodworking store. I don't know how, but the Bosch GTS1031 table saw found it's way into the bed of my truck.....

Lastly, a while ago I received the Ultimate Dust Deputy from Toolnut.

As of now, all three new items for my shop are STILL in the original boxes. That will all change tomorrow morning.
First I'll install the AC unit. Second I'll set up the Bosch table saw and then I'll hook up the UDD to my CT26.
All so I can start building a chicken coop !

The chicken coop is not for me. I'm actually gonna get paid for building something

My 20 yr old Jet table saw's motor failed on me last Sunday. The SawStop was an unexpected but not unanticipated purchase that same day. The Jet would have been on it's third motor service. The added power, much improved dust collection and safety features drove the decision that I would not sink any more money into the Jet. I had considered the Jobsite model but stability and power won out over portability. A bonus was being able to use my cast iron router table on the new saw. The saw works great!

I didn't buy it today but a while back I bought some B+W P5 wireless headphones. They are truly incredible sounding and I wear them at work, on walks and a lot in my shop as passive noise suppression.

Comfy as heck and brilliant sound to boot!

I bought a couple of Aldi cheap clamps and made a rack for them. They're not the best quality but very cheap and will be useful. £2.50 each is what they work out to be.

I bought a new house today with a 845sqft 3 car garage and a 20x20 space in the basement for shop space. This is a big improvement over the 250sqft basement shop that I currently have! I bought a Hammer A3-41 with silent cutter head back in December and received it in March that I will finally be able to take out of storage. I will now need to purchase a tablesaw. I'm wishing that I went with a Felder over the Hammer so that I won't feel the need to upgrade a few years down the road. I also bought 2 axes and a Sloyd knife from Lie Nielsen. I also just bought a bike, but that's not shop related.

Porter-Cable guide bushing MagnaLOCK ring.

It's replacing an old (pre-2006) Jessum belt-driven lift that is sticking badly. I know Incra is made by Jessum, but no one is complaining about the new lifts sticking, so I'm hopeful. The clean sweep rings were part of the decision, as I'd like to improve the airflow from the top of the table to my under-table dust collection port.

Never used one before..... Ive been having some fun.... Shitting my pants. I have soon learnt I HATE hollowing deep bowls its slow...boring.... and tense lol

Orderd a few Robert Sorby chisels. Decided needed bigger stuff for hallowing so ordered sovereign chisels and Hope hollowing system with camera. Although I did really want Clarks hollowing system or Korby but both American so not easy to get. So settled with a less heavy duty british version. Hopefully it will come tomorow.

Clamps are so expensive. Yet I have been stung couple times with cheap.
But £2.50 is cheap enough to say it.

My local has a promo on Bessey (that I don't think goes for much longer) .. you get 30% off if you buy a mixed 10 clamps. Just don't know what to grab. K-Blocks are great, but have quite a few already.

Basically it's a secret, but I guess it's safe to tell you, here on a woodworking platform

My friend and I, we have a side business. We travel the world to exorcise those pesky GEDORE'mons from car- and other workshops... It's quite dangerous

, doesn't pay as well as robbing banks

, but the revenue through owning Snap-On shares - is OK

. I mean, the harder we work, the more Snap-On is bought and shareholder value raises...

Here's a picture of me in action. That was quite a beast, had to bring out the crossed ratchet and pop-up screwdriver, too....

Hope hallowing Jig. Had a play for 30mins and I love it!! There are better systems available but this does the job perfectly. I feel safe and I dont get arm ache because Im sh itting myself

To add to the above, I took advantage of a Woodcraft sale to get the big boy PC router motor. Just couldn't resist. Added the 1/4" collet.

A while back I routed my left index finger doing something that I knew better than to do. So I picked up a Woodpecker Free-Hand Guard as well.

And a couple of silicon glue cups.

Snap-On CTUSB761 - turns the 14,4V Micro-Lithium battery packs into a power bank (5V 1A). (( @Festool USA maybe something to consider for the 10.8V and/or 18V batteries? - Would buy one straight away to throw into my CXS Systainer...

@Holmz the Invis is targeted at an interesting way of connecting fins to boards (think big old timber stuff). It'll be a while before I get to play with it, but it was available for a promo price .. can't pass that by.

Bought it after someone explained to me why the product I have used before from a different manufacturer is basically useless, quite shocking (no pun intended) given this is supposed to be a safety device.

@CrazyLarry so true. I'm currently in the process of moving a lot of my tools into a work unit while we fix up and present our house for sale .. moving all the systainer housed stuff was a snap. The TP is still in it's box on the bench behind me waiting to go into a box

Wasn't today, but my most recent non-Festool purchase was a BuildClean air scrubber. I'm digging it so far. It's not the magic air cleaner I had in my imagination, but I do notice an improvement.

I don't usually notice the noise because I work with ear protection always, but when the client comes in, I have to turn the jet engine down to 1.

Recieved the Bosch GAM 270 MFL Digital Angle Finder from Acme Tool today. I got tired of using my small digital angle finder for longer work. It has great features including a lazer. It will be great for checking for square the steel/aluminum entrances that are a large part of the work I perform.

Today I got a a cheap Wagner spray gun and a couple of cheap chisels , rasps, etc ... Why? Because my good stuff is as the wrong end of a very full storage unit

The cheap gun ($199AUD) is very disappointing, I think you'd get a better result throwing paint bomb balloons at the wall

You can alway use a rough chisel or two, so I'm not so upset about those.

Got my new Lamello few days ago 😁

Had a play with it yesterday for first time. Trying it! Straight away noticed something... and I think Lamello are missing a trick here.

I thought if I wanted to fix two clamex fixings ontop of each other I would have to drill two access holes on both timber faces inside and out. I thought that would be daft why doesnt the clamex have a hole on both sides so I only need one access hole.

So I removed the rotating metal cam from the clamex and drilled another hole though. I reinserted the metal cam. I drilled a access hole from one side through both lamello P slots.
BOOM works brilliantly!
At first I thought I might have trouble with alignemnt of the two allan key holes but Alan Key went through easily.

I think I did shop from the same place for CMT. It was like 3 years ago and it was 50% off but I do not remember the name.
I buy them from www.routerbitworld.com now. Rich is a great guy to deal with and shipping is always $1 and the the prices are lower compare to any where on line.
I am not new to Martor and have been using them for 7 years. If you do not loose it or loan it to a friend that has a bad habit to breaking stuff, then most likely they indestructible.

Just to clarify, it's nothing life threatening but it's really, really annoying because it sometimes changes within an hour - makes advance planning completely obsolete and I only dare to leave the house on what I call a "100% good day". Plus, I thought I was done with it, then it hit me again out of the blue. So I'm getting used as pin cushion again...

I still hope to be able to continue projects and start some new ones in a couple of months.

Although, not something directly for the workshop they do aid in making stuff that goes into the workshop. Some heavier Pfanner Gladiator chainsaw pants for the < 10 degree F days. Been wearing the ventilation ones for a few months, but those let a little too much air up the rear

in the winter.

And a box of 50 Pfanner work gloves because I don't want to run out anytime soon!

Why chainsaw pants over chaps? Well, when you're out in the woods all day you're spending more time planning a fall and skidding it out than actually running the saw. Chaps are easier to take off than to put on. And it never fails that an unseen limb or buck cut needs the saw on it and fatigue + daylight weening might make one neglect the chaps for that cut (I'm very guilty of this). But I have never felt the desire to ditch the trousers for nature's full ventilation... the family jewels aren't for ticks!

I bought the 18v Milwaukee 1 1/8" rotary hammer, couple SDS drills, and chisels. Now there are jobs where I won't need to drag my 30 some year old Hilti TE-72 along. A couple months ago I bought the Milwaukee 18v 15 ga brad nailer...used the the day it came to reinstall mahogany stops at a skating rink where we replaced all the 4' x 5' insulated units. Had another cool UPS delivery about two weeks ago. So, I've had some time to use the Jokers and the carver. Without a doubt Wera makes some nice tools. These are definitely a nice step up from the Craftsman set I've had forever that is rusting.

The grinder/Arbortech carver is a lot of fun. It will wear you out though. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been playing nice to finish my first carving job (not an indoors activity) or I'd share a photo of what's going on. Pretty excited about the maple because I cut it down nearly 3 years ago and it is spalting nicely at the core. Should make for an interesting "egg" end table and maybe a bowl. Ooooor maybe I shouldn't use this wood for the first project

I bought Hanson 3095001 2-Piece Adjustable Tap Socket from Amazon. With these to grip the taps I can use my 3/8 drive Milwaukee for tapping or a 3/8 rachet for restricted areas. Wera VDE bottle opener. Of course if you are thirsty, then you cannot work efficiently. So it is important.

Great choices by the way! And the pop-up bit-holder is really fun - I got the Snap-On version (same bit-holder, but their colors and "Instinct" handle style) that Wera makes for them. It's great and fun to play with.

I now have improved versions of the two planes that I ordered, now that the blades are honed and adjusted. Per previous experience, they only needed a little polishing on the back, and then a micro bevel. The blade angle on the shoulder plane was off by a degree or two, but the micro bevel took care of that.

The Veritas jack rabbet plane is awesome, and the review from @derekcohen gave me even more ideas of things to do with it. The only thing that I can see that you don't get from this plane is the toothed blades. I wonder if Veritas would custom tooth a blade or two?

Got this today

Had a little play seems really nice, easy to use and a nice thin beam

But an absolutely horrendous colour clash with the festools lol. Doesn't even look like I could fit it in a systainer
But to be honest everything fits really nice in the box inc the tripod

Will be cool if the sys light fits on the tripod

Forgive me for I have sinned. It's been over a decade since my last Alternative Green (Ryobi) tool purchase, and hopefully it will be another decade before I am tempted again!

In my defense, my main router died last night and I was trying to beat a timeline for delivery of a project. My local big box hardware store opens at 7am Sunday mornings so down I went and grabbed the only 1/2" shank variable speed plunge router they sold. Now I'll need to submit a proposal to the minister of finance and war as to why I need the OF1400.

Mainly because the fittings are just to expensive. Standard unit size I would use 16 to feel its a solid unit now thats £10 in fittings. Mental!

Plus I cant cnc the groove so im having to second machine the parts by hand. So more time.

I have an on going job I would love to use lamello for customer has just ordered 100 more from me. To use lamello I need to use 12 per item 100 items thats 1200 fittings. £720 on fittings 🙀

I am using One drives for units and they are brilliant! Alot cheaper and fully cnc nestable on both mating parts. Only thing I have to so is tap them in an screw up.

I do love the lamello for mitre joints though brilliant!! I just wish they cut the cost on the clamex and I would use it alot more. For just plastic they are charging far to much.

Agreed. Everyone waxes poetic about their screwdrivers and hex keys, but it's their bits that never fail to impress me.
I could take or leave their screwdrivers. Actually, I do in fact take Wiha and ye ol' Facom Ergotwist whenever it ain't bits. :-0
The tips on the PB versions are the nicest, though. For hex, I use Bondhus, Wiha and PB, interchangeably. I'm not saying they're interchangeable. I'm just saying, they all work fine for me. :0

Introduced in January, I ordered mine in February, and the first batch shipped last Monday (Germany, not sure about NA and ROW). Arrived today - the Spax Mini-L-Boxx.

And, finally I might add, also the 3,5 mm T-Star screws feature a T-20 drive. So no more changing between T 15 and T 20 on most projects. Great move if you ask me.

Included are: 3,5 x 16; 3,5 x 30; 4 x 35; 4 x 40; 4 x 50; 4,5 x 60 - overall 703 screws and 3 Bits T-Star Plus T 20.

The large L-Boxxes from Spax (102) are supposed to ship at the end of the month - but since I sold all my large L-Boxxes those aren't for me, anyway.

Yes, I have that little ratchet and use it a lot. For the older or more arthritic members of the FOG it really does make life a lot easier.

At last years D&M show at Kempton Park I saw some low profile sockets that go with the ratchet but cannot find them on the Wera web site. They are very squat and so you can get the ratchet and the socket into a space about 25 - 30 mm high. Any ideas ?

I don't think Wera has long / deep sockets. But you can put any brand 1/4" drive deep socket on the ratchet. Are they just not available in the UK?

Unfortunately I can't tell you for sure who the manufacturer is. Allegedly these are/were made by http://www.robert-schroeder.de/home/ueber-schroeder/ for a German store called Manufactum. ( http://www.manufactum.de )

What I can tell you for sure is that this particular model was up until recently sold by Manufactum - but they have recently discontinued it, this one was purchased in one of their local shops that had stock left.

In the end it's a common tool of the past, albeit maybe not with the 1/4" hex bit holder, but I guess there are a "gazillion" manufacturers who have manufactured them and maybe even still manufacture them - maybe also in this updated version with 1/4" hex bit holder.

It's called "Drillschraubendreher" or "Driller" in German, and if you search ebay for example - even NOS/ and used from German Military come up for sale...

We used to call that a Yankee (not sure why )it was always made by Stanley

That was a cordless screwdriver when I was an apprentice

We always put a jubilee clip on it to stop it rolling away

@VW MICK Stiil got my first cordless with the obligatory jubilee clip. At the time I was using this I was working at a boat builders and without the jubilee clip the Yankee would have been everywhere you didn't want it to be.
Says on it Stanley Yankee no. 130b made by Stanley, West Germany. I hadn't realised that these Yankee's used to be made in Germany.
I will now put it back in the bottom of the draw and crack on with my CXS.
