I finally went for the incra LS System. After much back and fourth I decided a dedicated router table was my best bet. I went with the “works” less the clean sweep. I also decided to go with the jessem pow-r-tek motor. There isn’t a lot of info out there but it sounds like the PC7518 has gone down in quality.

Any other accessories that are a must?

Now for the long 6 week wait :(

6 Weeks on the incra LS or the Jessem housing?

Let us know your setup. I am curious about that new Jessem motor.

I was considering the Jessem motor. I tried calling Jessem for info. They never returned my call. I checked the warranty and was told it’s one year. The Milwaukee and the Porter Cable are both much longer.

I’d be interested to learn your opinion on the motor

I'm not a tremendously heavy user of the PC7518 motor in my Incra table, but it is a very powerful and, so far, reliable motor.

I would reconsider buying the Cleansweep unless you have plans to build your own under table collection. I feel under table collection is essential and improves overall dust collection. Along with the Cleansweep, the table inserts with more slots also increase dust collection effectiveness.

Nice!  I’m interested in your feedback on the motor as well.  The upfront speed control would be great.  I would second the comments about clean sweep or at least the table inserts.

I decided not to go with the clean sweep because I’ll be building a cabinet underneath and will integrate the DC. Reading other people’s designs they said the clean sweep is just too big and takes to much space out of the cabinet. I did order the inserts though!

I don’t know how I feel about the motor. No videos or really any feedback out there. I assume jessem wouldn’t put their name on a turd but who knows nowadays! I’ll definitely report back with the motor and maybe I’ll try my hand at a YouTube video since there is none out there!

It’s a 6 week wait time for the LS System :( I got tracking already for the lift and motor lol!

@3PedalMINI It would probably save money to build your own dust collection enclosure, but I'm not sure that it would take up less space. Space around the motor is needed to permit proper air circulation whether it's a shop-built enclosure or the Clean Sweep.

It is hard to wait for a new tool, but Incra appears to be a relatively small company who builds their signature products as ordered. It's worth the wait of at least 3 - 4 weeks for their quality products and extremely responsive technical support.

I've been using the Milescraft DR11601 Dust Router attachment since it was introduced by the originator Keen Products.  I works great with no restriction of air flow around the PC7518 in my table.  I've run my router table for hours at a time with minimal cleanup necessary.

I forgot to mention, you might be pleasantly surprised to get a shipping notice within a few weeks.  I ordered my LS system around Xmas and there was a similar wait.  With their yearly holiday sale, I figured I wouldn’t see it until the end of that estimate.  They shipped in 3 weeks!

What table top and lift system did you buy?

I have the Milwaukee 5626-68 with the original Jessem Powertek controller that was the precursor to the Jessem powertek system. My understanding is that Milwaukee did not want to continue the program because Jessem could not buy enough units to satisfy a big company like Milwaukee. Jessem’s new machine looks exactly like my Milwaukee so they might have licensed the design from Milwaukee. My Milwaukee is a beast so as long as Jessem keeps the son at least as good as the father it will be a great product. I have never known Jessem to come out with a “new”product that replaced an old one where the new one was not a better product. I have found their products to be of terrific quality all the way around.

You asked what else you might want and I forgot to tell you that I love my Jessem clear cut stock guides. They mount in the front track of the fence and keep the work snug to the fence without having to set up feather boards. Check them out.

Glad to hear that you’ve been pleased with the original Milwaukee, it makes me feel a bit better about it! I went with the incra version of the mastrlift! I’ve received the motor and lift. I’m having a hard time waiting for the rest of it  [cool] [tongue]

Take a look at the Wixey remote reading digital read out for height.

I really like it on on my Festool MFS table.

You’re going to be pleased with their system. It works just like you see in the demo. It’s easy to assemble, align,  and calibrate.  And INCRA customer service is tops in the industry. (I finally bought the TS-LS after 7 years of using the router system.)

One of the Demonstrators for Incra said he has used just about every router out there. At one show, he arrived to find the sponsor provided a Milwaukee 5625-20. It was the quietest, smoothest large Router he had ever used.  I bought the Milwaukee 5625-20 and sold my PC that I had for years. I Have been extremely satisfied with My choice to Leave PC.

I thought The Jessem router control would only work with their router motor. If it’s a Milwaukee 5625-20, I’m wondering if it would work with my router.

I'm sure it really serves a purpose on the Festool table. The Incra lift with the crank is so accurate and precise that I found I don't need it. I do measure the "rough" bit height with various gauges I have but in the end, it's many times about fitting a groove to another part and adjusting the height of the router in the table to match that.

The Wixey Digital remote is a very cool tool, but the Incra table and lift does it on its own. Just my opinion of course. I never try to stop anyone from buying a cool tool.

Good to know.  Just about anything will be a massive upgrade from what I had.  This is likely overkill but like what all can be done with the Incra fence.  I was considering the Bora Portamate PM-P254 to save a few bucks and it seems to have good enough reviews.

Hi,

I have been using the Incra LS with Wonder Fence for years. Great system. Very versatile. Easy to set up for basic operations too. I built my own down draft DC enclosure. Originally I used the down draft and the through fence. The down draft does the job by itself.

   Things to get -------------

Two of the long slide out extension stops. ( I think one was included with my system). But it is nice to have two when routing long things that are "stopped" at both ends.

The Jessem router table stock guides. These are really nice.

Two  Gripper push blocks, full set up. Really add to the ways to move material through the table.

Only thing I don't like about the Incra setup is it is an MDF core, though it is thicker than most at I think 1-3/8" thk.  I was wanting to get a phenolic or even cast iron top.

@ChiknNutz
I use a cast iron top with my Incra LS 17 setup.  The Excalibre iron top came from General before they shut down.  Now, I think you can still get a Benchdog cast iron top from Rockler.

I have had the Incra works table along with the Power tek Router for about a year.  Really love the set up.  I went with the Jessem router to obviously have the variable speed easily accessible.  I did have problems with the router unit.  First one was DOA, just wouldn't start.  The second one had a bad control unit and wouldn't keep a constant speed.  Both replaced by Jessem fairly quickly.  They sent new ones, I installed the head unit and returned the others in the same shipping box.  It has reliable so far.

I would look at adding an the additional stop block as you only get one in the set and I often place one on each side.  Secondly, I'd get the solid plate cover so that you can use the table for other things and not worry about anything dropping into the router cavity.
Can also recommend the Jessem clear stock guides and the Whiteside router bits.

You'll get through the wait period and won't look back--it's awesome!

I wouldn't worry about the MDF top. I've had my Incra for 6 or 7 years and the top was flat to begin with and still is. I can find nothing wrong with the Incra setup and wish I had bought it years before I did. While the under table dust collection is good, it could be a little bit better, but other than that, it's one of my most useful tools in the shop.

Question for those using this, for dust collection, do you also connect to the Wonder Fence or does the Cleansweep collect as much of the debris as you can?  Meaning, do I need to worry about getting fittings and hose for both the cleansweep box AND the wonder fence or just the cleansweep?

I have both the Cleansweep and the Wonder Fence connected to my Dust Cobra.  I really do recommend using both options. Each of them on its own is OK, but when you use them both almost all dust and shavings are sucked up by the system. The only time I have dust "escaping" is when I do grooves.

SRSemenza recommended a second extender bar with stop (PPRF-600100), which is a great idea (thanks for that pointer!). I will copy that in my setup. But if you do, remember that those extender bars are made for the normal fence, not the Wonder Fence.

Another thing I have added to the standard setup is a power switch with speed setting. I don't like the idea of large bits (> 1") being forced to their final speed too quickly. The speed dial helps to adjust the startup speed as well as the final speed. It might be just my feeling, but I think it helps reduce the stress on larger bits.

Thanks for that.  Would you mind sharing what dust collection fittings you are using?  I have Rockler Dust Right stuff and was going to just buy more of those for this setup, but not entirely sure what I need.  Since the 4" port is on the bottom, I was wanting to add a 90 degree elbow there, then add a router table dual port to that.

I have a Dust Cobra from Oneida, which has a 2 1/4" dust port. I use a Y-splitter for 4" and 2.5" hoses and I use a 4" hose between the Cleansweep and the Y-piece. There's a 2.5" hose between the Wonder Fence and the Y-piece. See the photos.

I am sorry, I can't help you with the exact part numbers or even the shop where I bought the adapters. I had them lying around and don't know anymore where I got them. However, chances are that the were from Powertec or Axminster, because I have a lot of their stuff in the box with hose adapters. Anyway, they must have been pretty standard sizes if they were in my "don't throw away box".

The elbow is from Incra and came with the Wonder Fence. It fits the coupling on the Oneida hose without the need for any sanding or taping.

Oh, I forgot something that might not be immediately clear from the photos. I bought a second hose from Oneida. It's the grey one in the photos and it is the same as the one that came with the Dust Cobra. One is used to connect the elbow on the Wonder Fence to the Y-piece. The other is used to connect the end of the clear hose (with the black 4-2.5" adapter on it) to the Dust Cobra.
