@TSO_Products @TSO Products

It would be really nice if you or someone could give a quick run down on your track saw products like the guide rail squares, precision triangle, parallel guide rail system, to help determine what products are best suited for what lines of work.  Im new to this, got a MFT table, and it seems to me like they all pretty much do the same thing.

@RustE – YES, we’ll have Blue Systainers on the BLACK Friday list.

@ForumMFG -  TSO's BLACK Friday event starts midnight November 29 and ends on CYBER MONDAY December 2nd, 2019.
Your request / suggestion for a “quick run-down on our Tracksaw products” is welcome. It will probably be welcomed by others as well. Let’s do that with your help.

Can we run a draft by you “off-line” via regular email so we can dial in what is not clear on the first pass before posting a revised version on the FOG and our website as well.

Please email me your contact information to
        info@tsoproducts.com

Don’t use FOG messaging or FOG-mail – too hard to keep track of.

Midnight Nov29 . Is that the midnight of 28/29, i.e 11:59pm  +++ on Nov 28 or is it Nov 29/30 i.e 11:59pm +++ on Nov 29.

Always find midnight confusing as in midnight flights.

I hope Hans doesn’t mind me posting this to limit the confusion for those that didn’t get the email.  Coupon code november19 nets you 10% off the eligible products.  According to the email...

This's the first time I came across a Black Friday Sale anywhere on the Net requiring the use of a code that you couldn't see on the page you visited. The sale should've been billed as "Black Friday Sale for Insiders Only", or something like that.

Just sayin', not that I needed anything.

What are some situations in which you would need both guide rails squares?   I know i want to purchase the parallel system and the GRS-16PE, but do i really need the GRS-16.

And if i have those items, do i really need the precision triangle setup?

I just bought my first MFT table.

You need them to work with the PG's - well easiest to work with both. You can also buy a new attachment that allows you to use the PG's without the other guide.

Sometimes you want to square from the top of the plywood so it is nice to have that option.

The triangle is great to square the MFT, general assembly and you can easily dial in angles - simpler to use than the protractor head on the MFT. I really like it.

I've been a serious hobbyist for many years but just in the last year started working with MFT slab worktables. My first TSO purchase was the GRS-16 PE. Then I bought bought the TPG-50 complete parallel guide system and the GRS-16. Later when they were available I purchased the TPG guide rail adapter thinking I could sell my GRS-16.

Have found very seldom do you need the left hand parallel guides. On some long rips I have used them. I have used both the double GRS setup and the single GRS with the guide rail adapter and must say the double GRS setup is WAY easier to set up and tool-less (the GRA requires a hex wrench). Maybe in a production shop this would be different but for my work this works best.

Perhaps I misinterpreted the earlier comments from @TSO_Products , because I thought there would be a few more items on sale today than shown in the newsletter.  Although the discount on the TDS-10 package is appealing.

If you have a MFT table could i just buy the bench dogs and guide rail clips and wouldnt that do the same thing as the triangle with the exception of cutting angles? Is that correct thinking? I don’t see myself doing a lot of angle cuts with the cabinets i have planned to build.

At that point, just get the guide rail squares and parallel set which would allow me to break down full sheets of plywood.

Im trying to figure out what to buy based on what my plans are for them and right now im having a little hard time figuring that out.

Guide rail would help you get square cuts off the table.  On the table, the dogs and rail clips would work fine for square cuts.  If it was me, I would probably get the GRS and a parallel guide for starters.  My GRS is probably the most used track saw accessory.

Get one for now.  People have reported two are better/easier for long rips (8+ft sheets).  I only have one, but I don’t build 7 ft tall cabinets, so I’ve never reached a point where I’m looking for something better.  For now just get one and see how it goes, the PE Gives you the option of placing it on the near side or far side of the rail, so that would be a good option unless you need it to be more compact.

I agree 100% with Raj...as I mentioned in my earlier PM correspondence with you (ForumMFG), for 6' and shorter cuts use 1 GRS. For cuts longer than that use 2 GRS's or 1 GRS and a "TSO T-square" when/if that product is finally released.

@Cheese tell me more about this TSO T-square!!??

I believe it's finally been released so here are the details. It looks like a short T-square that attaches to the Festool guide rail and you can attach a TPG parallel guide to it.

So basically, on wide sheet goods where you'd typically use a GRS on the left hand and a GRS on the right hand of the guide rail, this little T-square replaces one of the GRS squares. So it gives you 2 arm parallel guide accuracy but without the bulk and weight of 2 GRS squares. It's especially nice on a 10' guide rail while using 2 each TPG-30 or TPG-50 parallel guides.

@Cheese - Come on Cheese, you are usually on top of these things, these have been out for some time now  [big grin].

If you see my earlier post I referred to it as "guide rail adapter (GRA)".

The jury is still out but from a few situations I needed two references I like the second GRS better. It's has tool-less clamping and seems easier to slide along the rail. Although, I think the GRS is about an $80 premium over the GRA.
