12V Cordless rotary tool recommendations?
« on: September 18, 2015, 02:43 PM »
Can anyone recommend a 12V cordless rotary tool?
I see Milwaukee and Dremel, but I was wondering if there were any others that I may have missed.
Of course my preference would be the Bosch GRO but it's NAINA.

FYI, Bosch has owned Dremel for decades.

So can you put a RotoZip drywall spiral bit in one of these for smaller cutouts in drywall?

I have the Milwaukee and use it regularly, I actually have seven of the 12V's and use them all.

Another vote for the Milwaukee. They have a pretty expansive 12v line so you will have batteries already if you want another one of their tools.

@GregBradley Yeah, too bad they fit a cap on the end of the battery that makes them incompatible w/ the Bosch 12v system. [censored] And there's only a handful of tools offered in the Dremel system, so locking users into such a small ecosystem is pretty stupid.

There's a video on Youtube that shows you how to swap caps, swapping them every time I want to use it in a different tool? No thanks.

@elfick I have the M12 rotary tool if you decide to go Milwaukee, plus two batteries. Shoot me a PM if you're interested. It's my last tool in the M12 ecosystem.

You can use the Dremel accessoires with the Bosch...
