Ideas on how to remove outfeed roller on jet JP-12?
« on: March 05, 2023, 06:48 PM »
So my outfeed roller is shredded to pieces and I finally got replacement but I can’t seem to be able to remove the screw holding the sprocket in place. Outfeed roller is round and nothing to grab on. I tried to put a piece of wood under the sprocket but it just keeps shredding when I’m trying to unscrew the nut.
Any ideas on what I can do here?

I would put the chain and the belts back on and use them to hold the sprocket in place while using an impact driver to remove the nut.

That’s a nylock nut, impact in short bursts.

Also make sure they are not left hand threads.

Didn’t need impact. Once chain was on and rollers engaged it locked in place and I was able to unscrew the nut
