Air cylinder/MFT3
« on: November 13, 2015, 09:48 AM »
I am looking for an air cylinder inline clamp I can adapt to the MFT/3 table to use for clamping up cabinet doors. Has anyone heard or done this before?

Air cylinder clamps are common in industry and easy to find...that being said I'm not sure that the MFT top is up to the pressures that air clamps can exert.  I use air clamping cylinders and vacuum systems, most would definetly deform the  MFT holes if used regularly.

You can reduce the air pressure to limit the clamping force to whatever you need and not damage the MFT.

I've had clamping tables and that was my thought. The clamp used on a precision dogs plate would not deform the hole. I have found a few clamps, actually pretty cheap.

Scott,

I have no advice on fitting air cylinder clamps to an MFT, but would love to see a few pics of your build.
