Water based over West Systems epoxy
« on: May 24, 2020, 07:43 PM »
Hey all,

I am experimenting with some black tinted WS epoxy (mica powder pigment) and have a few questions:

1.  Will a waterborne top coat be fine on it?  Meaning would it be sticky or have issues bonding.
2.  Any concerns with the powder pigment causing bleed into maple?  I don’t believe so, but again, this is my first experiment.

Cheers. Bryan.

Westsystem.com has a great technical section. They even have a toll free phone number for tech support.

I haven’t tinted West Systems epoxy, but I have top coated with water based finishes many times. No issues there.
