Hi @Toolabundant , those are fantastic. Have you applied a finish yet, and if so, what did you use?  You've inspired me to do something similar with leftover bubinga that has been sitting idle for some time.  Thank you for posting!

I’m going to use Howard feed and wax .It has beeswax, carabuba wax, orange oil and mineral spirits . Here’s a before and after on scrap lumber. It works better on Paudak than Purple Heart . Purple Heart chips out easy and burns easy . I fixed the chip out routing deeper and using a little bit of climb cutting . Climb cutting was done minimally and with great caution

I'm not a fan of purple heart, but nice designs and nicely crafted.

it’s for my daughter . She loves purple even has a purple car. I really like the Paudak . In no hurry to use purple heart again anytime soon it’s really really hard lumber

thanks for the compliment. I wish the woodworking magazines would do simple designs. They always have projects that are really involved . I had fun making my own design

Purple heart always reminded me of the purple filter in Photoshop.

It’s done. Funny how when it’s finished you can spot the minor nicks and dings in wood .

I notice that on my work, but no one else notices it.  I’ve learned to ignore it once I am done.

Since you did this for her and her love of purple, warn her to keep it out of direct sunlight. The purple color will oxidize away and become a dark brown.
