Likely to be my last post on this one. I put two coats of GF High Performance satin on the base and shelves and I used Shellac Sanding Sealer on the top. It's a 1lb cut of dewaxed shellac out of the can. The workbench casters I added at the very end using the Rockler quick release plates so the casters can come off when I want them out of the way.

Just WOW! Matt. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride. If it were me, the boss would find me standing next to it at 2 AM, spinning the vise handwheel back & forth, with a goofy smile on my face. Enjoy.

Have you put the first tool mark on it yet?  [poke]

She hasn't caught me yet but it has happened.

Yep it got some dings when I was using it to finish the rest of the bench. They're beauty marks.

Thanks Matt! This thread really was fun to follow along. You just have to love such a beautiful workhorse for your shop. You bet there'll be some jealous looks at that (online and offline)! Now it's time to start enjoying the results of all those hours of pondering how to do it and then actually doing it. Great job!

Nice Matt...very nice.  [big grin]  I'm waiting for the first project that you use this on...that'll put that goofy smile Richard was talking about back on your face.   [cool]   How much do you think it weighs?  Adding those Rockler casters was brilliant.

If I were 30 years younger I'd seriously consider building one of these.
