First substantial 8020 project - My dream miter station
« on: January 23, 2023, 05:41 PM »
Greetings from Washington state!

I've literally been planning this project for years. I hit the jackpot on a couple of occasions buying small and large (ish) piles of surplus 8020. I moved my shop out of my 20' land/sea container into a dedicated portion of my pole building and have been slowly equipping the space.  I'd been wondering what exactly to 'spend' my stash of 8020 on and finally decided to pull the trigger with an uber miter saw station.  Unfortunately, it's not sporting a KAPEX (maybe someday?) but the new bench helps to make the most of what I have.

My wife and I just launched our YouTube channel a few months ago so it seemed in order to document this build.  I just posted Part 1 of 4 over the weekend.

Look for more info in the description box of the video.

Enjoy!
David

That's really cool. I'd like to know more about the round table in the back. It appears to rotate, bringing the tool you need to the front?

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.

Yeah, I really enjoy that round bench and it was a fairly easy and fun build.
You're in luck because I did a dedicated video on that workstation.
Go to my channel page and you'll see a link to it.  The title is "Building an uncommon workbench".

Enjoy!
