Beautiful work! Looks comfy.

I like the sewing machine table too, they're a great idea!

Nice work. Reminds me of Shaun & Chris' chair and ottoman.

How long did it take you to finish?

Good eye. This is the chair I made from their plans. It took about 3 weekends and a few evenings to complete. Maybe 20 hours, but to be fair, I’m pretty new at this and a bit slower than I’d like to be.

That's awesome. Any comments on the quality and detail of the plans?

I've been building a lot of cabinets, built-ins, and drawers but really want to take a shot at building a chair. I've been thinking about getting plans for their Longview dining chair. I've enjoyed all their videos and the plans seem to be well made, too.

I thought they were some of the best plans I’ve seen. The videos really explain what to do in an easily digestible format. The templates are good quality. This is my first chair. I’ve only done tables and smaller item up until now.

Very nice project. Congrats on your execution.

I've been toying with making this to replace an IKEA bent laminate chair (you know the one...) but have too many incomplete projects to add another right now. Did you use Origin to make patterns, then Domino for all the joinery?

Any tips on process or Workflow? I've watched the Foureyes videos and like their tablesaw technique for cutting angles and mating faces. Did you replicate that?

Thanks for sharing.

As of 10/17 I am out of the Dog business and pursuing other distractions. Thanks for a fun ride!

Thank you. I bought their templates for the chair. Their 1/4 inch mdf and are good quality. For all the angled cuts I used the Incra miter express on my table saw and it worked well. I used the plywood to cut the leg assembly to length once it was glued together. The other thing I did out of order from the video was I finished it with poly (Old Mastes gel polyurethane) before the final glue up. It’s just easier that way.

Thank you. That was certainly a concern as I was building it, but it is super comfy.
