The Greensuiters Podcast (Brian Sedgeley, Jason Bent and Me!)

Admins, please feel free to move this board to the proper category - didn't really know where else to put it.

I think one of the coolest experiences in the shop is putting on a podcast and just going to work on whatever project I have at the moment. There are so many great woodworking podcasts, and podcasts in general, that help pass the time during sanding sessions.

A few years ago, Jason Bent and I became really great friends - one of the things we always talked about was starting a podcast since we bonded over our YouTube content journeys. We felt that if we were to do a podcast, we needed three people to balance out the discussions.

We had a few other woodworkers in mind (that also were in the YouTube space), however those usually fell through for various reasons. Jason recently moved to Greenwood, Indiana (near Festool USA's location) and became great friends with Brian Sedgeley (FestoolSedge). Naturally the three of us clicked over our love of woodworking and green tools - so Jason and I decided to bring Sedge into the fold.

We just finished recording Episode 5, and each episode continues to get better and better. I know that everyone here is a diehard Festooler, and we'd love for all of you to check out our podcast and be a part of our growing community.

We publish our episodes for free bi-weekly on Sundays (at the moment), and you can find every episode on most platforms (Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Anchor, etc). If you want to get access to every episode early, you can check us out on Patreon - there are lots of perks to becoming a patron that you can't get anywhere else.

We are absolutely thrilled that we have this podcast going and if you love your Festool - I think you'll love the show! We hope to see you in our community!!

Looks like you need to become a supporter on Patreon before you can even watch/listen to their podcasts. No thanks. I support many YouTubers with Patreon or membership but only after watching their content for a while and deciding to help them out. Not sight unseen. And, yes, I know Sedge and Jason from their channels and Festool but this podcast is an entity to itself, so I'll pass.

@Mark Katz, forgive me for any confusion in the post - allow me to clarify.

All episodes become free the Sunday after patrons get it. You can listen to the show without having to pay.  We are on most podcast platforms (apple podcasts, google podcasts, Spotify, etc). Episode 4 will be free this Sunday, 12 September at 8am EST.

Started listening today.  Bit of a slow burning start on episode 1, but well worth sticking with it as it's a great episode.  Moving on to episode 2 for my commute on Monday.

One bit of feedback for you is to find an alternative to Patreon.  I've absolutely no issue throwing a few euro/dollars at anyone investing their time to create such enjoyable and helpful content, but I've a MASSIVE issue with paying sales tax here in Europe on the contribution.  How much?  19-25% tax on top of the kicker via Patreon depending on where we're located.  It's 24% tax here in Finland on top of what I pay to Patreon, out of which they'll cream their cut.  It's probably the same now on YouTube to 'join' a channel or whatever, with taxes collected going back into the coffers here.

I've no issue paying income taxes and so on, but in this case it's the principle of it for something like this.  I suspect some will be put off by it also, while others won't care.  I'm just not paying tax on being a nice guy.  There's enough of that already with the way they have it set up here!  I'd rather throw something over via PayPal F&F and be done with it, if that's an option for you guys.

@Paul_HKI, thank you for the feedback and listening to the first episode. The three of us feel that every episode keeps improving from the last, so I encourage you to continue listening.

I completely understand the headaches of exchange rates and that Patreon can be a hassle - which is why we also offer it free. We value feedback, messages, comments, reviews and Patreon donations all the same. We will never discourage anyone from listening for free. Leaving a review on the podcast is just as valuable to us clearing overhead for producing the show.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing more of your feedback!
