Paul-Marcel got interested in circus acrobatics and stepped away from woodworking.  I miss him, too.

Before I bought any Festool kit I joined the FOG and gathered as much information as I could about the various tools. I found Paul's input and especially his videos a great help. Later I started making videos myself and Paul was kind enough to offer some advice which I valued greatly.

So come on @PaulMarcel come back and say hello at least and tell us how you are and what you are doing these days - I know that you check the FOG from time to time.

I thought it was a joke that he was interested in circus acrobatics.

Must stop assuming.

Oh, hi!

Thanks for the kind words! Glad the videos are still useful after so long and so many product revisions.

It's true, I ran away with the circus, kinda. I could do a clown act just fine! A beastly rope or straps act, not so much (though both of those are among my favorite apparatus). Now, coincidentally, I did meet a clown from Cirque du Soleil's Beatles LOVE show who left the show to open a woodworking shop.

My Instagram is PaulMarcel328 so it is a mix of woodworking, contortion training, circus training, and food. https://www.instagram.com/paulmarcel328/

I refuse to finish my Angle Madness project off-camera so that will eventually get done on camera. I have a few projects before that, though, and have considered recording mini-episodes to talk about whatever is special about them. Building a carcass isn't interesting, but some things I did for an 8' diameter travel stage might be. Since I'm editing more show videos lately, it kinda has me in that workflow again.

My new profile pic is a silhouette of a photo from a recent flying pole duo act I performed in (I'm the one on top, duh...) Silhouetted cuz it's a burlesque show my contortion coach runs.

I'd also like to thank my mole who sends me mail "psst! hey! your ears should be burning, there's a FOG post about you" 🤣🤣

Glad to hear he is still around and still involved in woodworking.  I just watched an 11 year old video of his on the use and tips of drum sanders.  Prompted me to do a google search of "half inch shy." Still helpful after all these years

Paul demonstrated a compounding error problem with the Domino which I have watched once many years ago and now can't locate in any of his videos, does anyone know where to find it?

Here is a link to his YouTube channel:  http://www.youtube.com/@HalfinchshyWWing

I suspect that this might be the video that you are looking for, but he does have several on the Domino:

Thanks Peter, that is the one I am thinking of where the pins can be calibrated. The plastic gauge for visual centre I set using feeler gauges and it came out spot on.

Oh, that was a beaut, eh?

I'm still around, but not as active online. Keep thinking of doing shorts now that YouTube supports those. Have an ongoing list of short topics but then I think we all have lists to do 'real soon now'. Then there are guys like Peter Parfitt poking at me...  [big grin]

Glad the old videos are still helpful!
