This is interesting. Now, MT55 owners, your turn.
Yes...now to see what the Cuprex motor looks like.
Also duly noted, 50/60 Hz.
It's a 120V machine. Why wouldn't it also be 60Hz?
Look, the issue (at least the one I have) is with Mafell's
230V machines. Perhaps I put too much stock in what it says on a motor nameplate but the last thing I would do (without some written assurance from the applicable manufacturer or retailer that it was OK to do so) is supply a 230V/50Hz motor with 240V/60Hz (just like how I'd ever put petrol in a diesel car). I'm still waiting for Mafell and/or TT to provide (or one of it's customers to pass along) something (anything!) in writing that says it is OK to overlook the info stamped on a motor nameplate. Until this happens, I (and I think all of us) have to assume the worst.
I'd love to be proven wrong here. Toward that end, I am hoping that someone will post a photo of a 230V Mafell machine sold in N.A. (preferably an Erika) that features a stock motor with a nameplate that reads "230V-240V/50-60Hz". This would at least prove that the latest generation of machines destined for N.A. have been appropriately modified to accept the peculiarities of our electrical system. It wouldn't, however, effect the outstanding matter of all of the machines that have nameplates that read "230V/50Hz."
