Please Vote for Our Table
« on: September 02, 2020, 11:34 PM »
I'm asking for fellow Foggers support by voting for us as the Go Texan people's choice in the Texas Works Awards.

We feel that our "Texas Longhorn" table represents the best of Texas in terms of quality, originality and style. Plus it would be nice to see a woodworker win.

https://texasworksawards.secure-platform.com/a/gallery/rounds/4/vote/745

Starting today, you can vote once a day (and everyday) for the next two weeks. You don't have to be a Texas resident to vote.

Please feel free to pass this on to other people who may be interested including sharing on social media.

Thank you very much.

I was asked today how I came up with the design.

My brother always teases me that I have these ideas because Mom dropped me on my head as a baby.

Honestly, I was in a barbecue restaurant and saw a display of different cattle brands along with a stuffed longhorn shoulder mount.

It stuck in my head and everything just came together.  Later that afternoon, I did a sketch on some scrap paper and the rest is history.

There is a song immortalizing that tower.

@tjbnwi   Not familiar with it but I assume it memorializes the infamous tower shooting.  Definitely a sad moment in its history.

@deepcreek, I fixed the link.

Surprised you do not know it.

From the album-Sniper and Other Love Songs, by the late great Harry Chapin. (I’ll repost the link later if this does not work)

We want to thank everyone who voted for our entry in this contest.

The final tally is in and the top spot went to the "Lion Latch Jewelry Tote".  There were over 160 entries and a total of 53,000 votes.

Nevertheless, we were completely overwhelmed by the amount of feedback and support we received from good people like you.

Knowing that you believe in us and appreciate our one-of-a-kind creations means the world to us.

We both want to thank you for making us feel like we're the real winners.
