Thought our tools were hit hard with supply issues? This Dyson is becoming a bad joke!

Our V11 stick vacuum had an issue at the beginning of the year. It would not shut off. This happened once before when it was fairly new and they replaced the unit with a new one. This time they ordered a new main-unit. About 1-1/2 weeks later I get an email informing me my order has been cancelled due to product unavailability. WHAT - warranty item order gets cancelled?

OK - called them back and they re-order the part. Then again I get a cancellation in a week and a half. I call there CS again. After a lengthy call they offer to replace the entire unit. Ours is no longer available so the equivalent model was V15 so I agreed to go ahead. They sent a return shipping label and said the new unit would be sent out 7-10 days after receiving our old one. The 10 days pass and no shipping notice so I call Dyson again.

Get this the replacement unit is on backorder and they don't know when they will be available again. I asked to speak to a supervisor and all they could do it take my phone number. This is like 2-1/2 months without our vacuum. We could shut off the old unit by removing the filter so maybe should have held onto it.

Last summer, my V10s battery stopped holding a charge. It would only run for maybe 15-30 seconds.

I've been on the waitlist to get a V10 OEM battery for almost a year now. I finally opted to try my luck with an off-brand battery. Keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't overheat while in the charger and catch fire. That sure would suck.

The joys of global supply chain issues.

My wife is pretty rough on vacuums but this Dyson has performed the best. We do have a backup but it’s corded and once you cut the cord it’s hard to go back. May just have to purchase another cordless stick vac.

Our Dyson broke...I took it back to Costco. *shrugs*

I haven’t had a Dyson vac before, just personal preference, I like the bagged canister Mieles.

Yet I am the opposite, and actually gave a very nice Miele canister to my friend and kept the Dyson. A cordless stick lets one zip through the house quickly, unless you have a mansion. The stick gets emptied every time so no smells. If there are pets in the house the bag vacs tend to smell horrible when turned on, no thanks! Plus as we know from our Festool vacs, bags are really expensive.
