Rubio Monocoat color for Restoration Hardware dupe?
« on: February 15, 2021, 11:05 PM »
Hey everyone, new here. I was wondering if anyone is like me and likes to make furniture that resembles restoration hardware pieces but out of solid hardwood and good construction. I am wanting to do a cloud sofa table and also my version of their coffee table. Has anyone come across a color that is very similar to their "weathered grey" color? I have searched. The species will be on white oak. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

On white oak I’ve used slate grey and silvered grey.   I had the best results bleaching the wood first and then using the Rubio,  It matched the weather Grey look better.

Thanks! What prduct did you use to bleach the wood?

I had looked into fumed. It was definitely an option. I didnt want a barn wood look though and some of the pics I saw looked that way to me. But it is def still a consideration. I just wondered if anyone had a color that they had used that came out really similar. some good ideas so far, they are appreciated!
