Any further information on the 2.0 and Fuji release availability?

By the way the lid and liner kit @ddjeske linked to #26000 is for their 200 micron filters (white). I'll be doing waterborne so I believe I'll need #26301 per https://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/1451272O/pps-2-0-spray-cup-system-part-number-reference-guide.pdf

as well as #26003 S2C adapter for the T75G gun and #26124 H/O 28oz cup 2.0.

Anything I'm missing?

Edit: I called Fuji and they won't have the new system to play with until later this year. Then I called 3M and ended up with a very friendly and knowledgeable woman. She said the H/O 2.0 cup is currently available in 6oz and 28oz. She strongly recommended not using the 22oz liners I linked above in the 28oz cup as they may not be properly supported and if you're using a heavier paint for example it could cause the liner to crack. She mentioned they were told there are manufacturing issues on the H/O cups and to expect stock late September but if I can find one there are no known design changes just that 'something' caused a delay in manufacturing. So for me using the T75G:

#26003 S2C adapter
#26325 28oz lids and liners
#26124 28oz H/O cup

@DynaGlide  (and others) I'm just looking at the cost to change over from PPS 1.0 to PPS 2.0. I have the Fuji G-XPC gun so I need:

#26110 #S24 gun adapter
#26124 H/O Cup
#26325 125-micron lids/liners/plug/non-press cup (#26024 for 200-micron)

...why does the #26325 lid/liner/plug kit also have a non-pressure cup included? This makes this kit expensive plus I notice you can purchase lids in packs of 25 but liners only come in packs of 100. 100 is way too many for me.

I already have the 1.0 and have spare liners. Can someone confirm it looks like the 28 oz. liners are the same for the 1.0 and 2.0?

Thanks
Mike

I think a call to 3M is in order. You want their automotive applications division and if you get the right person they'll be able to help you out.

Just thought I'd pass along a deal I found while shopping for some more 3M PPS 2.0 supplies. I wanted the smaller H/O cup and liners to complement the large cup which I already have. https://www.nationaltoolwarehouse.com/ has 3M PPS 2.0 parts for way, way cheaper than anywhere else I could find and free shipping if you hit a minimum $49. I've never heard of them but they are on Amazon and have good ratings. I checked out with PayPal just in case.

And in case anyone asks. .

3M 26121 13.5oz H/O Midi Cup
3M 26312 125 micron (Blue for waterborne finishes) lids/liners/plugs pack

This is for my Fuji MM5 T75G gun. I posted the proper adapter and pn's for the large kit in a previous post in this thread.

I hope this helps,
Matt

Great find - saves me $100 if I get large pressurized cup and cup set for my Fuji. But unfortunately the adapter for my GXPC gun is currently OOS and they don't know when they will get more. I have the series 1.0 but only have a handful of cups left so may pull the trigger on this.

Can we no longer get the series 1.0 cups? I still have that version too.

Don't know - didn't look - didn't mean to imply 1.0 is unavailable. All the issues I have had with the 1.0 seem to be addressed with the 2.0 so have decided to upgrade at this price point since I'm running low on disposables.

Nice! Just bought the 2.0 125 micron Mini Kit for $59 after tax! Boy that saved me a lot of money upgrading! Even found the adapter for my gun for $36 shipped on eBay! Not too bad!

Great deal.  I have the same gun, and now have the pps gear on it's way to me. :-)

Just a heads up (currently trying to work this out) - I ordered the cup kit and high pressure cup. My delivery came yesterday and was missing the HP cup so I called and they said must be shipper fault. Someone else was to call me. No callback yet but I noticed I just received a refund for the HP cup - WHAT! I also notice they have jacked up the prices on these items now too.

Mike

UPDATE - got hold of them by phone and they do seem to be out of the HP cups so they gave me a refund. I need to call back, but, they say they will honor the price originally paid.

Dang it looks like they DID raise the prices! Should have picked up the Midi setup with my Mini kit. Didnt realize they shared the same lids and it would have been nice to have both options for those prices.

Also, wanted to add, I got my Mini kit quickly and with everything that was supposed to be included. It was just the pre-boxed 3M setup and shipped in the 3M kit box.

@Mike Goetzke Sorry it didn't work out for you. I got mine in without issue earlier in the week. Bummer that they raised the prices. Perhaps they were in fact too good to be true.

@DynaGlide  I updated my post - they claim the large HP cup is out of stock and will honor the lower price if I call a certain rep..

@DynaGlide  Finally got the last piece of my puzzle - the H/O cup from National Tool.

Question: the lids come with a black plastic ring to lock to the standard cup. Looks like for the H/O cup you remove this black ring first? Correct?

Thanks

One thing that surprised me when swapping to the Series 2.0 gun adapter on my Fuji G-XPC was the nipple between the gun and adapter was crusty inside  [eek].

I exclusively use waterborne finishes and clean the gun by running water and water/DNA. Thinking I need to remove the gun adapter to clean this nipple out in the future.

@Mike Goetzke I for one do not like crusty nipples.

I used my Series 2 system for the first time today. I spent about 11 hours spraying some cabinets with Target EM9300. I would say it was the best looking finish I have done. With my Series 1 system I usually had to thin the Target coating a bit and needed a 1.0mm needle set to get a decent finish but today was able to spray out of the can with the 1.4mm needle set.

Can’t believe it but on my first refill I forgot to relieve the pressure in the cup before removing the gun. All I can say is don’t do this!

Heads up to those upgrading from Series 1.0 H/O system.

While working on my first job with the Series 2.0 setup I noticed:

1) The Series 1.0 and 2.0 cup liners are the same.
2) The H/O cup is the same! ( only the screw on top is different )
3) Looks like using a Dremel would allow you to mod the Series 1.0 lid into Series 2.0. Almost looks like you could mod it in a way enabling use either Series 1.0 or Series 2.0 liner lids, although, the gun adapter is different. ( potential $70 savings )

Question for all that have upgraded to the 2.0. What are the advantages? I have 5 spray guns set up with the 1.0 and am hesitant to upgrade and am hoping they are not discontinuing 1.0 supplies.

Thanks,
Bill

@bigshaw929  Bill - watch the first video on post #6. They show 6 improvements. My Fuji gun uses a pressure assisted cup called H/O. With the H/O cup I think you only get 3 of the improvements (gun little easier to attach, much larger mesh filter area, and can stand partially used product lid side down). But, I think the larger mesh filter seemed to help the flow of the finish on my first attempt.

Good luck
Mike

Mike,
Thank you. I missed that somehow. Have you used it and think it’s worth upgrading?
