They just discontinued their half sheet finish sander and the rotary sander.  I’d also stop everything to drop $$$ for a brand new 110v AEG/Holz-Herr belt sander with Festool written on it, but I’m certainly not holding my breath.

Seriously though, slap a Festool battery on the really awesome variable speed Fein die grinder.  If you need a marketing angle, just position it against Foredom or Proxxon and say a bunch of cheesy stuff like “power unmatched” or whatever.

A dual SCA 8 battery charger would seem like a logical addition with the current Festool push for cordless tools and it would be especially helpful with the TSC55 REB.

A range of cordless tools that utilises the the CXS 10.8v platform. Utterly bewildering to have only a single type of tool for a battery platform.

Festool is not as big as other tool manufacturers. I doubt they even have 1/10th the sales of brands like DeWalt, Makita, Metabo or Milwaukee.
This.
Plus their philosophy is to make one tool only when it can be in some way special - and make it "right/perfect". Cost be damned.

Now thinking of it, the original CXS was a "wondertool" back when it came out during the NiCd era with its special battery shape to allow good performance in a very small package for the time.

Today, I am confident Festool would not have developed a CXS-type tool at all as the mass market is flooded with adequate up to excellent tools in the category using cheap high-amperage LiIon cells. I am sure the CXS volumes are quite small and it is kept only because there is a historical market for such a tool.

Maybe I’m wrong  [jawdrop]    but I think I did a search and couldn’t find those sanders in anything but 230 volt.  [sad]

And unfortunately the 230 volt version is NAINA.

I see my post could be misunderstood in a way that the belt sanders are available in 110V but not for you, but no, only 230V [oops]

This^.
For the people working at home it might not make much difference but on site it would be really helpful.

A cover plate (Festool 491750) for the HK-55 that improved dust collection, but also incorporated some kind of replaceable outboard splinter guard.

I wonder why they left it open in the first place. Cover it, leave a hole for Allen key.

better sightline to the blade more than likely.  after all its a framing tool, unlike the TS/C that is a finishing tool.

A smaller version of the OF 2020. The ergonomics and dust collection is spot on, but the base is too wide for some applications. Scaling it down to 2/3 of the size would be perfect. With a less powerful motor it could perhaps be battery powered and a light is an absolute necessity. I really like the self centering inserts so the 1010 isn't quite as attractive to me.

This is quite a long thread so this may have been mentioned already, but sure would like to see a cordless vacuum.  I have the CT-Sys which is a nice vac but sure would be much handier being cordless.  May be too late for me though- getting ready to pull the trigger on one of the Milwaukee versions.  Just need to decide which one will work best for me.

ksc 60/120

it needs to run on 2 batteries, but like the tsc can run on one if needed.

come on.  makita has made a 260mm cordless mitre saw (i have one) so it can't be that hard to do.

SYS-Powerstation covers that "high end bat vac" use case more than nicely ...
For a VAC to be powerful, it would have to have huge batteries. All the bat vacs out there are pretty meager for this reason - to have some sensible runtime it is the only way.

I have the small one-battery Makita which is really fine but in no way in the "Festool market" price/performance-wise.
For a proper one, if I had the use case, the SYS-Powerstation + Mini and there you go!

hummmmm..

i dont need another battery platform............ [unsure] [unsure]  (lets do a quick count, lxt, festool 18v, m12, old B&d, parkside, and probably sommit else.)

but on the other hand, i might pick one up coz u can charge lxt batterys on a xgt charger........  and its a darn sight lighter than the 260mm bohemoth.  that is stupid [censored] heavy.  and that drill is the most powerful on the market, the impact has a zillion and 1 settings, and i have been eyeing up the sds plus with the sucky thing.......

It's not a product, but I wish Festool also sold new items directly to customers. While I have received great service from local distributors here in San Diego, it would be so much easier than tracking things down or dealing with the handful of larger dealers online or taking a chance with the smaller guys.

Seconded.
If there was a concern for "competing" with the dealer network, as that is the main reason no to do this, it can be handled by (intentionally) substantial shipping/handling charge.

Especially for the odd accessory here and there, it would me much easier to just click on festool.XYZ, add to basket and have it shipped instead of hunting for a dealer. Especially for the more obscure pieces where it makes no sense to stock them.

This can be combined with a "direct-order for pickup at registered dealer" so that one can leverage the Festool site + central warehouse but still pickup locally.
