CT SYS Mobile and Track Saw

Hello!

I use primarily CT36E with my track saw, but have occasional need for 1 or 2 cuts with the track saw in locations where the transportation of the large dust extractor is just a problem (think stairs, lots of corners, and of course heavy weight of CT36E with an almost full bag).

Any opinion of using CT SYS Mobile dust extractor with the track saw? Does it have enough power for few cuts in 2in wood with the saw (TS75) to pull the sawdust away and not leave it in the saw?

CTSyS will work with a track saw.  I’ve used mine with my TSC saw.

I recommend if you are doing a lot of cuts that you consider their bag that you can open, empty and reuse so as to not to go through a lot of bags as they will fill up with track saws.

There is a substantial difference on how much dust it collects compared to a dust extractor. Still, thank you very much for the suggestion

I find the midi very capable. In your situation the ct sys mobile might be a good work-around solution. I’ve also seen using a painters canvas drop cloth used to capture the fallen dust, especially for outside use that might be a good $25 solution to a $300 problem. As an interim solution if it’s a monthly scenario.

Makes those times where you have one or two cuts so easy as you can get by without any dust collector at all.

I have used my CT36 and also the CT-SYS with my TSC55. They both work just fine. But to tell you the truth the bag that comes with the TSC is amazing. It collects I would guess over 95% of the dust. Makes those times where you have one or two cuts so easy as you can get by without any dust collector at all.

I do have the TS-75... comes without a bag. And of course I would use the CT-SYS with sanders and other tools, therefore cost is shared.

The CTL-Sys is more of a vacuum cleaner than an actual Dust Extractor.  It's small, light, incapacious, non speed/power-adjustable, and lacking the bypass cooling that almost all quality extractors have.  Which actually makes it almost ideal for what you're proposing.

I agree that a LongLife bag would be advantageous.  The standard (3.0 L?) bags are ridiculously small, but perfect for "a few cuts".  But you'll be forever buying new ones with intensive use.

About the only downside with using the littlest vac is that it comes standard with a 3.0 M (10') hose rather than the "conventional" 3.5 M variety.  This becomes irrelevant if the vac is used suspended from the operator's shoulder with the supplied strap.  The limitations imposed by its design using the CTL-Sys with most other power tools actually become relative virtues when used with a saw.

The shorter hose combo will provide similar extraction performance to larger & more powerful extractors & will be far superior to the rather mediocre performance of a dustbag.

Yes, I get very good dust collection using the bag. It is not perfect I
know but I am amazed at how much it does grab. I do not use it all
the time but when I have a quick cut to make it works well.
