They normally have one of those big FS5000 rails hanging on the wall, but it was gone.

I think the 197" rail was discontinued.  Someone probably bought the one off the wall.  Can you imagine the problems shipping something like this without it being damaged?

It's still in the newest catalog item number 491500. Yes, shipping is the exact reason I got my FS3000 and this FS2424 from a local dealer. They will get it truck delivered from F-USA and the usual "rough handlers" don't get near it. They are probably too big for most of them anyway. The FS5000 definitely would be. I did get the FS1900 from an Amazon seller, it was ok. It had two pieces of pine 1 x 4 in the box though.

It is not showing on their website although the page description mentions "...up to 197"".

I got an actual hard copy of the catalog from the dealer, during my visit to the "Festool Experience" last month. It's my first one since 2016. They had the same one at the dealer today to look up the number for the FS2424.

If this one is on your list, order soon.  [wink]

Once it's sold out, customers will need to order shorter rails and use connectors.

Tough I already have a orginal (old version in new condition) Milwaukie Hamer Drill, I have a lot , I mean alot of drilling to do to put some screens to cover the drain holes on my block wall fence. I live on a acre and half which the back of the house is enclosed by a block wall fence. In Az lower couse of blocks are required to have the blocks with holes to allow for drainage.

This is also where my little doggie sneaks out of the yard and where rabbits and snakes sneak into the yard. The darn rabbits keep eating my plants.

So I found the PDC kit on the Festool recon and  got it. Just see dragging a extension cord all over the back yard to drill holes to screw tapcons in (using tapcons to attach the screen to the block wall)

Came home with a DF500, MFK700, OF1400, KA65 and a MFT3.

Turns out this purchase should have been discussed with the ministry of war and finance first, who knew  [scratch chin]

Bit the bullet and ordered the TSC 55 KEB today along with the CT bluetooth module.  I already had a charger and a number of batteries but none of them are bluetooth so I figured it was time for an upgrade in that department as well so I got the Plus variant.

Maybe she bought a Bernina Sawing machine.

Nothing that practical.  More like cashmere wraps and sweaters to the tune of about $3000.  Oh and throw in some sort of necklace for about a grand. However, she doesn't say a peep about me indulging my Festool habit from time to time. She works like a fiend as the EVP of HR of a multinational corporation so she deserves anything she wants to get, IMO.

I always heard it as "It's easier to get forgiveness than permission."

That's an old marketing/sales statement...and that's certainly apropos so much of the time.

The original statement was: It's better to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.

That lexicon would then normally be proudly bandied about after the salesman/marketing manager violated all of the internal corporate guidances and sold a multimillion $ piece of a one-of-a-kind tool for less than cost and promised that it would be delivered within an impossible time frame.

Got my new TS55 FEBQ, my first Festool track saw.

I used it briefly today for some test pieces and am totally blown away with the quality of it - quite astonishing (but then you all know that!). I think it will be a big upgrade on my 10 year old Dewalt saw, which is basically a circular saw that goes on a fairly simple track and chucks dust everywhere.

I bought the 2022 (UK) "fan edition" as it was cheaper than the regular edition. It seems to be the same product as the regular edition, but came in a special systainer with green handles, and also had a Festool branded Pica pencil and tape measure thrown in.

I had been agonizing over whether to get this or the new TS60, but as I'm mainly going to use it for small projects and cutting plywood I decided that the extra £130 wasn't really worth it. Hopefully I won't regret this!

Walked into the local dealer with a plan to get a CXS. Out of stock!
Settled on a Kapex instead.

I offloaded some old Dewalt routers on Ebay and treated myself to an OF1400.  Wanted something in between the MFK700 for edge work and the router table for throwing big bits.  The OF1400 seems like a good all-rounder for 1/4 and 1/2 inch and 8mm bits.

Both are useful, but hardly interchangeable.

I have one battery platform too many, and seeing as Fein are pulling out of Australia, I have sold my Fein gear and being replacing with Festool. Latest addition is the OSC 18v Vecturo. Still need an angle grinder and rotary hammer.

I thought Festool bought Fein? The Slugger cold saw  got a while back shows up on my Festool warranty list, as does my Fein multi tool.

Fein is still independent. They do share technology with other companies and Fein will be using Bosch battery tech in new tools.

I wish I had ordered more things. I should have got the OF2200 and I think the midi extractor was £200. I thought they would have cancelled the order saying it was priced wrong.
