A cheap addition, but will help organise - Sys3 insert for both TID18 and C18. Will be nice to get them both in one systainer.
Not so cheap addition - HKC55 set.

No this is my second, so I don’t have to use the Guide Rail on my MFT/3 to join with my other FS1400/2-LR32 Guide Rail when I need to break down full sheets of ply.

Received my STM1800 today in a sealed box. Glad I could get hold of one of the last pieces. Look forward to saving my back and having a flexible work surface that would collapse under the MFT.

Believe it or not...when you search for 484727 on the Festool website this is what comes up...the poly brush inserts are no longer available from Festool.  [sad]

https://www.festoolusa.com/search-results-page?keyword=484727

Knowing this, I've been searching for these items and after 6 months finally located some at ACME. This is the package in which they arrived, a plain plastic bag as opposed to a Festool plastic carded item. 🤷‍♂️  Maybe these are from the OEM?

Hi, yea the search engine is wrong I bought these about a month ago from festool, didnt know they made one for metal that why I had to order new

Well thanks for that... [smile]...I managed to melt the plastic brushes while stripping a large set of timbers and hitting unseen metal objects/plates. Consequently, I've been checking the Festool website every couple of weeks for several months now to find out when they were going to be available.

I finally gave up and contacted the local ACME store where they were backordered. That was almost 4 months ago and finally on Friday these showed up in a plastic bag whereas the metal brushes I received from ACME were in a Festool blister-pack.

Strange...

I have been using these in metal projects(almost out of vlies) both fine and medium grit no complaintshttps://www.google.com/search?q=lehigh+valley+abrasives&oq=&aqs=chrome.0.69i59i450l5.12128035j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Excited have have just two Festool tools, the OF 1010 R router and TSC 55 K cordless track saw (was on back order for a few week)! I was pleasantly surprised that there’s a metric sticker inside the TSC 55, as I do plan to convert most of my shop to metric.

Can’t wait to play around with them this weekend.

To celebrate my 35th birthday for the 11th time I told my wife i was going to purchase a vacuum cleaner - I left this pretty vague as i walked out the door this afternoon.

After a week or two of much deliberation ( should I shouldn't I, but i want the 36AC, but the 26 will do what i want etc etc) and reviews, i checked my bank balance and then I picked up a new CTM midi and the Bluetooth button for the hose

I worked out it should do everything i want and i hated having to get my cheap work vacuum cleaner out of my van every weekend ( lamest excuse ever)
I still need want to get the Cyclone and a 36mm hose mainly for the Kapex at some point in the future, like in about 3 or 4 months when ive paid of this weeks tool bill [crying]

But now i have a festool Backpack to go with the Hoodie i got with the Rotex, that ive been wearing for the last few weeks ( anything under 22 celcius with wind factor is freezing in Darwin [tongue])

And as an added bonus i managed to find and order the 104 piece Centrotec installers kit earlier in the week, after many many moons looking for and at them.

Got the new TS 55 FEBQ in a great deal. Only had time to unpack it but oh darn is that Systainer ³ oversized.

But at least the inlay is a bit smarter than the classic inlay, offering a space for the rods, Quick clamps and a cutout to reach below the saw blade storage.

What's wrong with the older inlay? Mine has places for the rods, blades, end stop, edge guide and clamps, in the older T-Loc.
It also sits with the handle facing left, which I much prefer to the way the TS75 fits.

The T-Loc inlay is different than the inlay for the Systainer Classic. For T-Loc there are different versions too btw.

The classic inlay was not designed for the 160mm quick clamps but for the 120mm screw clamps. They do fit, but only in one specific way that isn't obvious. No dedicated space for the connector rods. The blade storage doesn't let you grab under the blades to take them out. I have pices of sturdy smooth paper under each blade.
And above all; no space for the FS-WA/90° as the classic Systainer is a bit smaller where the FS-WA/90° sits in T-Loc.
So all that was solved by buying a new machine. I can resell the new rail and resell my old TS55 and the upgrade costs will be minor for a new machine with new Systainer that also the FS-WA/90°

Yes, the blade retrieval could be better, but it is there. I was glad to see that there was a space for the parallel edge guide, when I bought one. It's probably stupid to hope that the same one works with the TS75? never tried it

I wasn't either, but apparently it got changed around at some point with the saw sitting in the Systainer the other way around. Also had to do with the dust extraction port being changed and you had to take it off to fit the saw in the Systainer. That was of course a pita so they revised the inlay.

The Systainer Classic inlay is yet again different. Although the parallel guide also fits nicely in there. I bought it too, but I don't think I ever used it...

Congrats!

How about these?

  • Check that the fence is square and inline (straight across) and the table is flat across, front to back.
Make test cuts to check the laser, angles and bevels for accuracy.
Use a short 36mm dia, hose for dust extraction.
Use a ZCI (I use the Fastcap strips, about $1US a strip).
