Title: Sandpaper systainer
Post by: lambeater on May 22, 2010, 10:52 AM
I started looking for a systainer to hold my 5" disc,s but can only find the one which holds 5 different sizes flat. Yet When I go up to the systainer for 6" it holds eight different sizes vertical. Is there a tray or systainer for 5" that holds more?
thanks

As for the 125 mm abrasive Systainer, I'm not a fan. It's too small for my liking. I made my own by tweaking Seth LS/RTS idea (link to talkFestool) (http://www.talkfestool.com/vb/festool-tanos-all-things-systainer/797-ls130-abrasives-pad-systainer.html) a little. Systainer #2 with 16 slots. I've got seven 125 mm sanding pads for my ETS/RO125 sander and ton of paper. I'd guess I could get nearly twice as many discs in there that I have shown in the picture, if I packed them tight.

I have a Rotex 125 and I made a conscious decision after looking at both sanding disc systainers to use the 6" systainer. It holds all the 5" discs pretty well and I have a hand sanding block in there too.

I suggest you forget the 5" sys- you will be forever looking for the right pad as only 5 are visible at the same time.

Richard.

As usual, nice job Brice.  I've got the 6" systainer and don't mind the configuration for the sandpaper but you're set up offers a little more versatility.  I don't have other pads that I need to store but if I pick some up I may reconfigure the systainer to accomodate them.
