A few of these items looks really good, really hoping for reasonable pricing of the table saw and I’ll get a cxs18 assuming it’s fairly compact. The rest seems a bit meh. Cordless midi vac maybe will be good as well

That is significantly more informative than the Live Stream.

And probably contained just as much worthwhile content.

I still have a sour taste in my mouth from "watching" that "event", even after I closed the window twice (once when it was postponed, again when they cut away from the event to a static screen while they partied).

No kidding that was some of the worst “marketing” I have ever seen. I watched 5 minutes of the replay and was embarrassed for whoever decided to put that online

Embarrassingly bad.

At the very least, if you're gonna put out a promo video, spend more than $1.50 on the music.

Yeah, I noticed that, the Grinder is making a return to the states, and a number of other things that have never been mentioned anywhere.

The recap itself almost feels misleading and disappointing in light of the lack of information on release dates as well as showing off a bunch of stuff that nobody has ever mentioned before.

The marketing folks here in the US have a long way to go.

At least they don't have to worry about which tools they're putting on sale price next week or the next free battery promotion, like the mass market brands, but still...

Last week, the guy at Grainger showed me some Milwaukee bags, including one attached to their Pack-Out boxes. I thought it was a great idea, too bad Festool doesn't have something similar. ...and now this haha!

In my opinion, another video that should have never been uploaded.

I'll give that whole influencer thing another year or maybe two. All of the companies are burning money on event invites, events and freebies - and I have yet to come across a single influencer that could actually convey the true value of any product & what sets it apart from competitor's products by showcasing actual use scenarios. ... And it seems, most couldn't if they wanted because they lack any real experience with the tools, or experience with other tools to be able to tell a difference. It's all show/entertainment and I perceive no value from that. Absolute worst are those TikTok or YT shorts videos ...

Just FYI: Festool HQ Germany sent an e-mail sometime ago that people could apply for testing the new ExoActive. I was surprised to get that E-Mail, since I unsubscribed from their mailings a while ago.

Maybe be on the look out if Festool USA sends an e-mail as well.

Kind regards,
Oliver

Quick search came up with this but that's all I could find, anybody have more info on it?

Couldn’t agree more, whoever allowed them to call them influencers on camera also should give their head a shake. As for the exoskeleton thing, if I ever need something like that put me in the ground

The point of the exoskeleton is to keep from having to need the exoskeleton later in life from repetitive stress injuries.

When using a Planex overhead, more than half of the weight you're holding up is actually your arms, not the tool itself.  Working above shoulder level for extended periods of time puts significant stress on the body that we haven't evolved to be conditioned against (as opposed to carrying buckets and other heavy things at your side).  The exoskeleton should increase day-long endurance working overhead as well as protect against long-term injuries that take people "out of the game" much earlier in life than they would like.

Long before the concept of influencers ever existed was @PaulMarcel. His thorough explanations and demonstrations were very informative to me. I learned a lot and saw the potential what the Festool system could do for me and my work. I never felt "sold", it was all about "taught". I really missed it when those slowed down and eventually stopped. I think there is some presence on IG, but I don't do social media.

Agreed, it was bad enough when it was "live" and no one was paying attention to what was being shown, but to let it continue to run on YouTube?
The YT shorts and TikToks are a natural extension of the attention span of the current times.

It’s Neanderthal thinking to want to be able to hold up objects without the use of an additional machine? Not saying it won’t help some people I just wouldn’t want to have to use one

And hopefully you may never "need" to use one if you're lucky!

Not so for the many people with muscular issues, RSI, carpal tunnel, etc, etc. Something like this to them would be a godsend, and would help extend their working life if they desire, or need to because of finances.

This is no different to elderly or infirm people using walking frames, or canes, I'm sure they'd prefer not to if they had the choice.

Agree with what other contributors have about the extension of a working life. I'm 63 and I've been on the tools as a pro for 37 years. My knees are shot, my back is shot, the tendons in both wrists are shot, my hearing's down by 6dB at 4kHz in one ear and not much better in the other. You don't visit a jobsite and expect to see a group of 10 guys lifting a 1-ton bag of gravel between them - they use a forklift or a telehandler instead. If better technology had been around 20-30 years ago, maybe my physical health wouldn't be the way it is.

Awaiting that one myself after dealing with the sys3 toolbox.  I got spoiled with the old format.  Hopefully it's not another soft padded bucket.

Looks like a modular (velcro) toolbox. About darn time something like this is released.

Sadly the sparse information on it was removed again.

I'm surprised to see the classic systainer feet receivers in that pic.  I'll laugh my arse off if this is just a reskin of the old toolbox.  :D

The interesting thing to see will be if it can sit on the cantilever "storage" box or the other fixed handle toolboxes.

Keeping it compatible with the classics is not too bad, still plenty of them around - also with other brands.

Even the Sys3s have classic feet on them.  I'm not surprised in the least that they are included on this bag.

In depth videos and reviews are fine for someone who already knows about Festool, already knows the product exists and is already considering buying it. These influencers serve a different purpose. They often have huge subscriber numbers and can get millions of views on a video. At that level, it makes good sense to just have your tools in their hands, or sitting on shelves in the background.

Take someone like Laura Kampf on YT. She has a constant supply of Festool products, often getting them before they’re widely available to buy and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her even mention them. But I can guarantee Festool makes way more in sales from that relationship than it costs them to send her a new tool whenever she needs one.

At least they finally include a longer rail; a 1900 with the TSV 60.

The 1400 rail is really outdated with the newer saws, even for the TS55. They should have gone to 1500 ages ago. Unless their idea is that sheets are only 1m wide instead of 1.22m...
