New TS55 - cutting out during cuts
« on: November 05, 2019, 10:45 PM »
Hello there,

New owner of a TS55 here!  ;)

Generally tickled with the saw, very impressed with the cut quality and dust collection.

A little less impressed with it's tendency to cut out - just for a second or two, occasionally - in the middle of a cut.

At first I thought it was something I was doing, as the first couple times it was when I was running the saw with my off hand, and I figured maybe I didn't have a good grip on the trigger.  Later, it kept happening, even when using my strong-side hand, and the trigger was very much all the way down.  It just cuts out - as if the trigger had been released - and then speeds right back up a second or two later, like nothing happened.

I've seen a few places where something similar was attributed (possibly) to not having the cord plugged all the way in... I checked and re-checked, but it seems in and locked.

I *have* been having some issues with static discharge on the vacuum hose - turns out the 16' Bosch hose I got this summer is *not* the anti-static version  :-\  and I've been getting zapped pretty regularly on my fingers/knuckles on the saw.  Not sure if this is at all related, as I haven't observed any direct correlation between static discharge and the saw cutting out.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Sounds like the cord is not properly connected. Didn't get it twisted far enough to lock.

Tilt the saw to 45ยบ, grab the saw end of the plug it cord, give it a good twist to lock it. There are solid filled and open arrows on the connector. Make sure the sold arror i in the center of the indexing line.

Pretty common on new saws where people are not used to how tight the new connector is.

The saw fits back in the Systainer with the cord connected. I havent removed any of the cords on mine in years.
