Festool FEIN Blade in Other Oscillating Tool
« on: January 17, 2023, 10:05 AM »
I have been given Festool blades that I think have the FEIN attachment. I own a Mastercraft oscillating tool, which uses a Onefit blade. Is there an adapter that will allow me to use the Festool blades on the Mastercraft?

Please - I'm not here to debate what brand of tool I own. I have found adapters to go the other way, to fit other blades onto a Festool but can't find information about going the other way.

I'm attaching pictures of a new blade and one that is currently used in the Mastercraft, to show the two attachment shapes.

That blade has the "old" Fein Supercut/ Festool Vecturo interface/connector. If I remember correctly the blade was placed on the tool, and then locked by a pin, inserted from the underside & through the blade.

I doubt you will find an adapter to make that work. I for my part have never seen one.

Kind regards,
Oliver

This confirms all of the research that I have done as well.  The old OS 400 blades are not forwards-compatible with Starlock variants of oscillating tools.  There IS an adapter to allow Starlock blades to be used on the OS 400, but not the other direction.

Thank you both for that information. Disappointing, but now I know.
