The UG stand and wings provide a very versatile base for the Kapex in your shop, but the real magic comes if you travel with your saw.  In very short order your saw and its stand and extensions packs up into a wheeled cart that is easy to move and sets up again in minutes.  I consider the UG package essential for any Kapex that ever travels and also great if it never leaves your shop.

I have used the DeWalt beam stand for many years now. I had to drill custom holes in the mounding brackets for the Kapex, but it works great. For mobile work, it is very easy to move and set up. In the shop, I leave the Kapex on the beam (with legs folded up) and put the beam on a row of drawers. In the shop, I added a wood fence with a Rockler rail with rule and flip stops. The wood fence rests on the left extension support of the stand, and attaches to the left side of the Kapex, which makes for quick, accurate, and repeatable cuts.

I bought a second set of DeWalt mounting backings, which I attached to my old 12" DeWalt miter saw. I use the DeWalt saw on the DeWalt rail stand when cutting 2x4 or other "rough" lumber that does not require the Festool quality cut, and then put the Kapex on when I need finish trim quality cuts.

Highly recommended?

Seldom move the Kapex, but when I do, the UG stand works well. I nest a Festool vac under the UG stand. Fits nicely. It is dedicated to the Kapex and has the short fat hose.

I don't own the UG stand, so I can't give feedback on it. I did consider getting it when I bought my Kapex.

But I ended up going with the Bosch Gravity Rise stand. That is one smooth setup. The Kapex holes need some adaptation to secure to the mounts. I love my setup.

Just an option to consider.

I own multiple 120 Kapexs, all are on UG stands with wings, great system. When you attach the wings then adjust them to be on plain check the connection to the saw, I find they need an extra turn if you change the position of the wings. These for the most part stay in the shop.

I recently bought a KSC 60 without the UG system. That lasted a couple of days. ended up buying the UG system for it. I did notice they have improved the connection tab.

If you do a lot of repetitive cuts, get some extra stops.

The wings fit the MFT 3 and CMS also.

A picture of the wings connected to an MFT with a few stops (I probably have 50 stops in the shop). The reason they're on the MFT is we were cross cutting plywood about 2' wide. 

Cautionary notes;

If the wings are not stable, you do not have them connected correctly.
When loosening the wings, turn the thumb bolt only as far as necessary to remove the wings.
Connecting to the MFT may require some shaping of the plastic on the thumb bolts with a sander.

The kapex stand is incomparable to the dewalt stands. If you buy a kapex and use it to do site work the festool stand is an absolute must. Without the stand and it’s functionality the kapex really is just another mitre saw (albeit better than most). Frankly I was disappointed by the saw until I bought the wings and man what a difference

I don’t own the mobile stand, but do have the extension wings. I bought them to extend the length of my MFT and Kapex. There’s some great YouTube videos by a guy name Ben on setting them up calibrating them etc. (I know this sounds stupid but they are complete. PITA to put them back in the bag. Had to YouTube).
 I plan on keeping them when I move to a new shop and convert them into stationary extensions for my Kapex. The nice part about that is the legs fold and they’re automatically at the height of the Kapex and I can always take them off and use them on the MFT if necessary. Not cheap but well worth it. My biggest complaint is the way they attach to the MFT. The knob is so freaking finicky .
