Mafell P1cc is the best jigsaw on the market and also the most expensive.
Second of your draw is the Trion PS300.

The Carvex PS420 is, after the disaster of the PS400, still not the best Festool jigsaw.
The PS420 still struggles with the blade guides. With every other blade thickness you have to manually change the blade guides.
If you do not adjust them the right way the saw produces burned and bend blades and because of that burned wood and 90° off-cuts.
However the battery powered Carvex is only nice because it has no cord and that comes in handy some times.

All from own experience because I owned the PS300, PS400 and now the PS420 and PSC420.
If the Mafell P1cc comes in a T-Loc systainer (Q1-2016) I'm tempted to buy this jigsaw.

Bosch makes some very good jigsaw blades.
Festool also does especially the FSG models.
Also take a look at the Mafell W1 double blade, L2 laminate blade and Starret DualCut BU2DCS/BU3DC blades.

Hola @par ,

I have a p1cc and I like it.
If you have 230v (which spain does) then it is a lot easier choice than those with 110v.

It fits on the Bosch rails which are also easy to work with.

I mostly use Bosch blades, and the Hitachi concrete fibre board blade
I have some Festool and the Mafell blades but I have not needed to use them yet.

I have not used the Trion nor the Carvex, but some are happy with them.
If you have an outlet, then I suggest that you use a corded model.
Bosch also have been making jig saws as long as anyone... One can hardly go wrong with a Bosch jig saw.

Sawing laminate is really not that critical of a job. Any jigsaw will do, just make sure you use special laminate blades or you'll go through 4-7 blades per 100m2 as you said.

I will echo what Alex said.  Cutting laminate is not a very demanding task, and any jigsaw should be up to the task.  Some features may make the job slightly easier or pleasant, but if looking at a new jigsaw, figure out what else you will be using it for in the future and base your decision on that.

Do get some blades designed for cutting laminate, or you will be using them up quickly.

If you're looking for a cordless jigsaw, might I suggest the brushless makita? I'm not a makita fan by any means but this guy seems solid

Hi. I thought the best is Festool CARVEX PS 420 550W -- 1500 - 3800, because have 3800 rpm.
The best blades saw for cutting laminate flooring? Quality and price ... I want to pay the minimum (I do not really care if they are special blades for laminate or not).
Now pay 4 euros for 5 blades (Bosch T 111 C) for 80 m2 laminate flooring. Approximate

Each month spending a lot blades ... Regards.

Having used or owned all the jigsaws mentioned I'd put the Bosch JS572EBL second to the Mafell P1cc for best jigsaw on the market. And as others have said, laminate isn't as demanding aa you might think. I just did four funky rooms in my house with laminate and bought some Bosch laminate blades, 5 pack. Didn't even go through 1.

If your main use is laminate flooring and want a cordless ,choose the battery system you have
Used Dewalt, Bosh, Makita and Festool and did not see much difference

But what do I know

Agree. I wanted the Mafell, but they stupidly don't make a D grip version and I don't like barrel grips.

So I chose between the Bosch JS572 (160 BCE in the UK) and the Carvex 420. Using the same blade in both on the same stock the Bosch produced consistently squarer cuts than the 420. It was only a small margin but the Bosch cuts were perfectly square and the Festool a fraction off.

The Festool wasn't bad, but for £50 less than the Carvex, plus the fact you don't have t buy a tilting base, I couldn't find any downside to getting the Bosch over the Festool. Bosch even do a circle tape measure style cutter almost identical to Festool and an adapter to use with both Festool and Bosch/Mafell rails.

The only few advantages I can see for the Festool are the various bases, if that sort of thing floats your boat (seems unnecessary to me). The fact it sits in a CMS module to act like a scroll saw, though again I don't think I'd ever use that. Finally the Plug-It cord, but again that's not a make or break for me. Ultimately the primary function of cutting as a handheld jigsaw being the most important consideration, the Bosch beat the Carvex for accuracy and that was most important in my decision.

Though as others have pointed out, cutting 10mm laminate floor could be done with a £/$20 saw with the correct blade. It's only when you start cutting 2"+ stock that you really start to see any difference in accuracy.

No idea about what's the best for laminate flooring, but I'm fairly sure the best jigsaw is a Mafell P1cc and by a very long way. It's only fault is the classic style Systainer it came in.
Fabulous saw with out any blade guides to adjust or heat the blade and distort it.

I had a Carvex 420 for about 18 months but never really liked it. Mostly for the reasons mentioned above.

I wouldn't say by a very long way. Price isn't always the best indication.

Agree, the Bosch 160 GCE is IMO, for my needs, faultless. Even if Mafell made a D handle version I don't know what it would do to justify being twice the price.

My decision has nothing to do with the price, though admittedly my only comparisons are the Carvex 420, whatever Makita model is I'm guessing their best current offering and a DeWalt I've had for maybe 10 years that looks identical to the current DeWalt model. They're all good, but the P1cc is definitely better.

I never liked the Carvex.
Anything else that is Festool that I have tried has been so really good that you just can't help but really love it for many, many, many all very good reasons.

It's the same thing with the P1cc.
Apart from the daft old Systainer Classic it comes in, but really that's such a small price to pay...

In my opinion it is the best jigsaw out there, hands down and I own and operate bother version of the Festool and the Bosch JS572. Nothing comes close to the cut quality of the Mafell. Of course there is a price tag that comes with it. But if something happened to that saw I would buy another in an instant.

I am not going to get into a debate about which saw is the best here, but rather I will say that although I don't do laminate floors for a living, I have done a few.  And honestly with the fact that it is the blade that is doing the cutting, the fact that your cuts should all be hidden, and the fact that you have to leave clearances (which will be hidden by trim - really the quality of the saw isn't as important as the blade.

Well having the p1cc and a 30 year old B&D I can say that the p1cc is better on 4x4s and larger... but it is not 20x better.
Both do the job on thin stuff just dandy.

I never considered a cordless because i use a vacuum, even though it is not super effective.

If you are only buying it for a one-time job and never plan to use it again then buy the cheapest jigsaw you can and a good blade, however, if you work in the trades and use it regularly or just want the best jigsaw on the market go with Maffel P1cc. If you must go Festool get the PS300 and avoid the PS420 at all costs.

Hi

To be honest, the most important part is jigsaw blade, if you have a right jigsaw blade then you can cut laminate with any jigsaw. But if you are using a jigsaw most of the times for laminate cutting then you can buy a new one which is specially made for this kind of work. Festool 561593 Carvex PS 420 EBQ jigsaw works best for laminate cutting.

For the reasons also stated by others above it seems over the top to buy a top shelf jigsaw specifically for laminate flooring. There's hardly any thickness so squareness of cut doesn't even matter and virtually all of your cutlines are hidden. Most people over here don't even use a jigsaw for laminate flooring but a 30 buck laminate cutter, like this:

Though obviously, similar to SCMS that won't work for scribing/scrolling long edges.

If you foresee a lot of other uses for a jigsaw, select based on those needs. Any old jigsaw will cut through laminate flooring.

I've worked on a couple of houses where the laminate floor was done by professionals. I've done a couple of floors myself, but it was amazing to see how incredibly quick they finished their work. They used only a jigsaw and nothing else.

BTW, this thread is 4 years old.

I always assumed jigsaws were the way to go until I saw people using a laminate cutter. It's unbelievably quick, leaves virtually no debris and you don't need anything to hold the boards.

When we do laminate floors, we use often just a jig saw with decent laminate blades.
Sometimes we use a jig saw, and mitre saw both fitted with laminate blades, and usually have hole saws to hand.
Personally, I think the laminate cutters are a waste of money for flooring.

If you just want jig saw bragging rights, buy the Mafell P1
