36mm hose, 50mm pipes??
« on: October 12, 2021, 10:41 AM »
Hi,

This may well be a silly thing to do, but I have found myself with 36mm hose and the 50mm vac pipes and industrial floor cleaner.  Is there a an adapter from the 36mm hose to the 50mm pipes (440412).  can i use the Festool Hose reducer D50/D36 CT Non-AS (452897), to do this, just use it the other way around?

Just use a "shop vac" hose for cleanups with your 50mm extension tubes and floor nozzle. Or sell them and get 36mm attachments. Necking down into a 50mm tube is going to kill suction.

That's just a recipe for having blockages. Use the D36 pipes if you have a D36 hose.

Same applies to D27 hose with D36 pipes; plenty of blockages where the pipes end and the hose begins.

I use 50mm hoses for cleanup, sometimes with three sections 0f hose to clean my deck and shop and on my tablesaw...suction loss is not noticeable.
