That's awesome.  There's another piece to that collector as well.  At least for my 1400 there is, not sure about the 1010 though.

That is one of the differences of the OF1400. That part is essentially "built-in" to the OF1010.

Since I was working on the NOS Bosch 1611 and 1615 applying liquid graphite lube to the plunge posts I decided to just put a tiny bit of graphite lube on the Festool 1010. posts. Made it even smoother plunging.

Really enjoying the router. Actually looking for things to use it on. I don’t believe there are festfools.  As long as you use something and can afford it buy it. I’m 53. I’ll have that router til I die hopefully in my 90s. Do my philosophy is buy great once cry once. Buy cheap you’ll be crying all the time. And that router is sized to be used a lot.

I ordered these 8mm shank set from Amazon uk. It’s Bosch but black clorored as opposed to blue.  I paid $134. Since my order up to $154. 6 bits were $50. 15 were $99. And the 30 I got was $134.  I really wanted a high quality starter set with maybe 6 bits for same money. Figured I might as well go for the 30 since it’s not like I can gradually build my 8mm shank collection . So now my little Bosch trimmer has a Freud boxed 1/4 set . And the Festool has a 8mm set.  And the Bosch 1611,1615evs, 1617, 1618evs and Milwaukee 5625-20 get the extensive collection of Freud, Cmt, white side and Mlcs. Hope the set is a least decent Bosch Professional 2607017475 30-Piece Set Wood Router Bit Set for 8mm Shank Router https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ML7K2G8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_GAMER5ZJX7VSRJ947WB6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Pics are of port adapter made on a 3D printer from a guy on eBay. My WAP vacuum rubber port adapter fits perfect . Beats prying the rubber adapter on the oblong Festool dust port.

Got my Bosch 8mm shank router bit set today. They are black finish made in China. 8mm definitely is beefier than 1/4. I compared a 8mm Bosch to a 1/4 Freud . Both flush trim bits.

Tested a Bosch 20mm.  Slight burn marks at beginning and end of cut. Slight burn on right hand side where router got off track a little. Used the Festool fence

Routed a new shelf using a existing shelf as a template . The original mdf shelf was breaking up. OF 1010 was perfect to cut a shelf out of 15/32 plywood. Used the other shelf as a template pin pin nailed to plywood. 8mm shank Bosch top bearing bit used. Now if I was cutting 3/4 plywood I would use one of my midsize routers and a 1/2 shank but. The littie Festool handles so well it’s my go to unless I’m cutting thick stock or using big bits.

The little Festool handles so well it’s my go to unless I’m cutting thick stock or using big bits.

The 1010 is also my go-to Festool router for 70% of what I do. It's just such a pleasure to use. I own every Festool router plus 2 Milwaukee routers and the 1010 still does the lions-share of the work. The only annoying feature is the oval dust port.

Your thoughts on the Tool Curve dust port adapter?

Your thoughts on the Tool Curve dust port adapter?   I love it!  Fits nice and snug on the router and the vacuum end fits my WAP vacuum rubber tool adapter and my 27mm Festool hose ends perfect and snug. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Festool-Cleantec-27mm-Locking-Dust-Adapter-for-Festool-OF-1010-Router-/265073864218?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0  Takes about a week to ship. Made on a 3D printer.
