So, have the new Kapex, very impressed as I have been with all my Festools.  I have been going between building a stand and, the MFT or the UG.  I am 6' 3" and would like something taller than the UG.  Are there advantages to the short height?  I would be interested in other users thoughts, both tall and not.

Thanks!
I think that Festool makes all of the tables and ug stands the same hight for extra support .

Too low a table/stand will force you to lower your arm further than necessary to finish a cut. In addition, it'll be harder if you need to bend down or sight down to double check the stock against the laser or cutline.

Usually and I say usually, the taller you are the longer your arms. I'm 6' with 32" reach. At 6'3" you should have 33"-34" reach. Ideally your wrists should be +/- at the same level of the working table, depending of the type of work.

Most of the time I wish the UG was about 3" higher than it is so I wouldn't find myself having to bend over as far to see my cut marks.

6'5" here with 37" sleeve length...I agree with Mario that hand height falls within a narrower range because of these offsetting effects and I find my Kapex on UG stand very comfortable to use.

At 6'3", I like my miter saw table a little over 42" high.  It's the hunching at the neck and shoulders that get you there, not where your wrists fall.  Try putting some blocks under your stand and see what you think.  Maybe use them on heavy use days and not when the Kapex isn't going to be your primary place to work all day.  Looks like the UG stand should be easy to block up.

Festool make the UG cart and Kapex MFT, MW1000 and other work tables and machines, a certain height so that all the working surfaces when set up, are the same (900mm) from the floor.
Which is a great idea for support, in feed and out feed etc.
