PSC 420 Blade Ejection : cannot reset blade holder
« on: April 11, 2021, 06:47 PM »
Hi all,

I discovered the tip to reset carvex blade holder, as shown here :

but there's absolutly no way for me to get the same result with mine. Here is a test :

I can leave it turned  on for ages, but never the shaft goes up by itself.... I have to do it manually everytime. Even sometimes I have to push quite hard, and I really don't like having to do that ...... for the machine of course but also for the blade !

You can see on the video the blade's signs position : first they are below the roller, and after i've pushed back the blade manually, they are above rollers...

Is it a stroboscopic illusion or does it means that I have basically two positions with my Carvex, in other words with my pendulum starting from the top, OR from the bottom. These two positions wouldn't give me the same cut depth obviously.

I'm afraid the first position uses prematurely the roller, the shaft and it's clamp support since it must beat more than usual the roller.

Any thought ?

By the way, my tool is new and besides my questioning, I love it. It's very accurate and I've done perpendicular cuts on 7.5 cm softwood beam thick without pain. I mean, i wouldn't expect so much with a jigsaw for this thickness, but Festool made it !

I'm just saying that because i've read so many treads about people having troubles (there are plenty of them here) and being disapointed with it, that I felt need to counterbalance these reviews a little.

Thanks for reading;
