Bosch Sucks!
« on: August 10, 2019, 04:18 AM »
Cheap Chinese junk wrapped in BOSCH!  My laser was junk sent it back.  Last 6 demo hammers I brought quit mid job.  I have 4 rotary hammers that are dead or in the shop.  My dust extractor has electrical issues.  I am done with BOSCH, Makita is the new King of the Hill!

Hi and welcome, sounds unfortunate to say the least. "Bosch sucks" I know their extractors do   [tongue]
I'm a bit puzzled that you've joined a Festool forum, to vent you frustration with Bosch, and to announce Makita as king of the hill?  [big grin]

Makita have been king of some hills for quite a long time, not all though  [wink]

I think I have owned approximately a dozen Bosch tools.  Most were made in Switzerland or here in the US and even the ones that weren't were (or are--I still have them) excellent tools.

Only thing I can think of that has been a problem is the trigger is acting up now on a corded 1/2" chuck drill.

I was just at Lowes and saw the Bosch cordless drills are made in Malaysia. Maybe Bosch is going global like all the other companies.

Sorry you're having so many problems. It's a hassle when your tools junk out mid-job.

I thought this was the FOG.  Festool doesn't build Bosch tools ???

That said, I have a mix of old and new Bosch tools, some over 15 years old that just keep on running like they were new.

Many of the Bosch tools available in Australia, have for many years been made in Malaysia.

From Bosch Website -

Bosch has been present in Malaysia since 1923, represented by Robert Bosch Sdn Bhd, with offices located in Selangor and Penang. In Malaysia, Bosch is active in the areas of Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. The company has three manufacturing arms in Penang providing car multimedia systems, power tools and automotive steering. In 2018, Malaysia contributed sales of close to RM 538 million (113 million euro) and employed more than 2,800 associates. Additional information is available at www.bosch.com.my and http://www.facebook.com/BoschMalaysia.

If you don't like Signatures, just go to Look and Layout and tick No Signatures.

I have maybe 20 plus Bosch 18V and 12V drills all made in Malaysia and another dozen or so of their bigger tool drills/rotary/demo items made in Germany.  In all, I own probably around 100 Bosch tools, all acquired in the last 5 years.  None have ever failed me.

I do prefer my Festool extractors over the Bosch extractors I own.  While the Bosch have higher suction, they don't come with an anti-static hose and I hate that you have to constantly disengage the by default auto-clean function when you don't need it when using a bag, but part of that reason is I got used to Festool CTs long before I got the Bosch vacs.

EDIT:  Hmmm, just noticed.  Single post new member, I wonder what is really going on here.

In the spirit of encouraging good will and not encouraging this forum as a place to possibly pop in and rant in an effort to capitalize on the forum's exposure on the internet, I am locking this thread.
