@Sparktrician spotted our TDS-10 Dog Stop product page has gone live on our website this afternoon.

Aimed at speeding up the production of precisely equal size cuts. This concept is worth taking a closer look at an approach that differs from "the way we've always done it".

Our BETA Testers (Pro woodworkers) love it on the job site.

Well that’s interesting! I was just dominoing (now it’s a verb) a series of small mitered parts last week with the XL, and you’re right, I spent more time trying to wedge the parts onto the MFT with scraps and dogs.

And your speed knobs don’t get enough credit around here. One flick and the spin down or spin off. I’ve been spoiled by them. My Festool knobs are buried in a systainer somewhere, while the speed knobs are on the MFT.

One quick question, If you order a qty of 1 of the TDS, you’re getting a pair?

This looks pretty cool.

Do you make or no where to find 20mm collars that could be used with larger dogs under the rail to adjust to thickness of material? There are some videos of someone on YouTube using this with a competing rail system, but the concept is the same. Attach rail dogs o bottom of rail and slide the collar to accommodate stock thickness similar to how the MFT works but I could see this working well with these stops for repeatable width cuts. It would allow narrow stock ripping if you do not have similar thickness to fully support the guide rail.

I've just finished cutting the pieces for a photo printer riser and used the TDS-10 that @TSO Products graciously sent me for testing. I concur with RKA that the Speed Knobs are far superior to the Festool knobs in this application. Every repeat piece I cut came out dead on the money. The thing that struck me while using it is that while it's great for repeat pieces cut at 90° angles, it might be better suited for cutting oddly-shaped pieces if one end were not square, but radiused. That suggestion aside, it seems to me that this is a tool more reliable for quantity repeat cuts than using just the flag stops. I'd even go so far as to suggest that they'd be better used in sets of four in combination with the MFT/3's fence.

That looks great. Did you do any testing for longer rips?

A while back I looked at various 20mm bore shaft collars with set screws to use with bench dogs. They were about 35-40mm outside diameter. Started at under $10 to very expensive. It's possible that something like this could be adapted to a longer bench dog. I never tried it, so can't say.

I'm trying to envision what you mean by this allowing narrow stock ripping with the TDS-10. It would be great if these accommodated narrow stock ripping.

Just remembered that Precision Dogs have some rail dogs with collars, though they are called spacers.

That looks great. Did you do any testing for longer rips?

I did some longer rips yesterday, but used the parallel guides for that task.

I just ordered a pair. I've spent months trying to find the holy grail: a fence that works with a custom MFT and can be used for repeatable cross-cuts, LR32 setups, etc. That search caused me to go through probably a dozen different variations with different extrusions for fences, different fence dogs, and different flag and flip stops. Most extrusions are just too bulky to use as a fence. And flag/flip stops seem to be designed to require a specific extrusion to work well. So I went ahead and purchased a Festool MFT fence and a couple of Festool flag stops. They work pretty well, but really I'm looking for something else.

A fence is overkill. I don't truly need it because I have plenty of dogs. I want something that allows me to set a repeatable stop and that doesn't cause me problems with height as I'm cutting or routing. The TDS-10 dog stop looks like exactly what I've been looking for. Yet another TSO product I won't be able to do without.

I ordered the $124 set and I am eagerly awaiting its arrival. My primary intended use is when mortising with a Domino. I always have the workpiece hang off the edge of my MFT and the far side blocked by something. Getting that “something” at just the right position can be frustrating. I think the TDS10 will solve that problem.

I was desperate for a video to see these in action so I typed "tso dog stop" into YouTube. I'm sure that for at least a week or two my feed will be full of videos of how to get my dog (I have none) to stop doing this or that.

I want to order a set up of the TDS-10 including small dogs, knobs, etc. I prefer the "close fit" dogs. How do I flag my order so you will know to include close fit dogs?

I received my TDS-10 adjustable stops today. I've only just opened the package and I've not used the stops.

The packaging was perfect and all the parts arrived intact. All the parts look to be of high quality.

I will contact TSO to clarify if what I received was what I ordered as there were actually 4 stops included. I thought the order was for a pair, not two pairs.

If I owe for the additional pair, I plan to keep all 4 of the stops.

I think the stops will be great for setting up for doing mortises wit my Dominos.

@Claimdude - in our view, the combination of having two Dogs locked in position, both horizontally and vertically, makes the clearances of the assembly already pretty tight. I can envision a situation where it is somewhat difficult to remove the Dog Stop assembly from a pair of 20mm holes because of the difficulty of extracting them perfectly perpendicular to the work surface.

If, after receiving our recommended set, you feel you would still like to try the CF-Dogs, let us know and we'll send you a CF- pair.

YES, @Birdhunter spotted what turns out to have been a shipping department software glitch that caused numerous customers to receive two sets of TDS-10 Dog Stops. While that problem, once identified, was quickly fixed, it drew down our inventory more quickly than expected. Many affected customers wanted to buy and keep the extra pair.

Typically our new product roll-outs will be met by demand which exceedss our ability to immediately fill.
Rest assured that follow-on production materials are already in the pipeline several months into the future. We will be ramping up as quickly as is responsible to do.

We expect it will take several months before we have product to fill orders as they are received.

Remember: it’s not just you wonderful people out there wanting our product – for TSO it is a necessity to ship

Reviving this.

As most here know I test various TSO products, with that out of the way........

When I first recieved the TDS 10 stops months I had no clue how we would use them. For repeat cuts on the MFT, at times, I'd just turn the the angle head 90º and set it where I needed it.

Well today I figured it out (yah, I know I'm a little slow). I had to cut a bunch of Domino mortices in 1-1/2" material. Broke out the TDS's (there's a joke there.......) put the dog on them and morticed away.

The material is walnut and hickory. The hickory takes more pressure to cut the mortices.
