Not that I’m aware of.

As far as Thermoworks goes, I have 2 of the Thermapens. One for the kitchen and one for the grill.
Right now I’m using 2 of the Chef Alarms to cook 2 turkey breasts.  [cool]

Benchdogs.co.uk (makers of all sorts of dogs fences and other MFT type accessories) have a 20% off sale. They will have something you never knew you needed [big grin] And, from the looks of things, they ship worldwide.

The site says to use code "BFCM19" at checkout, but the discount was automagically applied when I caved and went for "just a quick look" [embarassed]

I'm just a happy returning customer and nothing to do with the company.

These make a most welcome gift for anyone who cooks. I've bought a half dozen over the years from Lee Valley in the past and giving to family and friends for Christmas. I even bought one for the shop to measure temperature of liquids. However I just checked their site and didn't find them listed this year.

I usually buy a bunch of kitchen stuff every year for Christmas gifts from Lee Valley. Another great gift is the vegetable and potato peeler set. My wife, both daughters, and both my sisters love them. Lee Valley has quality kitchen gadgets every year. Don't miss them if you're looking for something for your favorite chef.

JUst in time.  This morning I received three new Samsung S10s for the family to upgrade to and received this email notice that Otter cases were 30% off today.

This is the best deal you would see from them over the year. Their stuff rarely goes on sale.

https://www.otterbox.com/

I've owned a few of their cases before. They are really rugged and last.

Plugs into the OBD port on your vehicle. Every vehicle made since 1996 has an OBD (On Board Diagnostics) port. Usually located in the drivers footwell near the steering column.

Thanks for that Bob...🙏🙏

For those of you that have followed the What's Cooking thread, both @GoingMyWay  and I use the Paprika cooking app. It keeps track of the recipes you want on your phone, iPad or computer. It's easy to just go to your local grocer, pull up a recipe and everything's there. No notes to take...no small pieces of paper to lose and the recipes transfer between devices. As of today I have over 700 recipes and photos on Paprika and they are all available on my iPhone, iPad, iMac, MB Pro, my wife's iPhone, iPad and MB Air. How many cook books would that be equivalent to?

So the latest skinny is that Paprika will be bringing out the capability to access the recipes on your Apple watch. I don't own one but it's a great reason to purchase one, think about it.  I digress...

So here's another opportunity to purchase something of value at a discounted price.  [cool]

I just stumbled on a Black Friday sale at Festool's Recon site.  If a tool or accessory is on your list, it's well worth checking out:  https://www.festoolrecon.com/collections/black-friday?page=1.  And it looks like everything on sale is still in stock.

I'm on the Recon email notification list, and I didn't get any notice of this sale - curious....

If CPO is out of stock on the Flex vac, Tyler Tool also has it for 180.

https://www.tylertool.com/flex-460060-vce-44-l-ac-hepa---12-gallon-hepa-vacuum/flzn460060.html

Should mention CPO and Tyler are owned by the same folks so they may share inventory as well.

You can get an adapter to mount Systainers on the top as well.

This and its little brother the 33 were on sale for ~$230-250 last week and I passed on them but at $180. .heck a Ridgid shop vac goes for $100. The ability to mount systainers and use Festool hoses is amazing value.

Here's a video from ACME tools unboxing of the 33:

Being made by Nilfisk (who makes Festool as far as I know) it's no surprise it shares so many similarities with the CT I already own. The limiting factors will be 1) No Bluetooth ability and 2) I believe it uses a 16ga power cord whereas Festool uses 12ga. Something to consider if you want to run bigger tools off of it. I dug through the manual and it appears to offer about 5A to the tool outlet.

I should be getting a commission. .that's 3 sales  ;D Looking at ACME tools website it appears the same 5 pack of fleece bags works on both the 33 and 44: https://www.acmetools.com/shop/tools/flex-accessories/flex-445088 . I'm toying with the idea of adding a Festool Cyclone to the top some day.

If you compare model #'s and read the toolguyd post I don't believe it does include the adapter. The FLEX website does not list the model # used by ACME, CPO, Tyler Tool. @Dusty.Tools can confirm as he already owns the VCE 33.

Sold!  You should be getting a commission.

Thanks for the heads up.  I've been wanting third vac in the shop to supplement my CT36 and Turbo II.

I think I've been saving an old style hose end before the Cleantec came along. It should fit right onto the hose. Then I can use my Festool cleaning accessories.

Everyone who got the Flex vac at the ~ $ 180 price really lucked out. I wanted to buy one for my work area at church and now the price is back to $399.  I called Tyler/CPO and they said the $ 180 price was a glitch  [eek] and are working to get the website updated.

In case anyone is interested, I have been thinking about the (new) Kapex.  I contacted Festoolrecon to ask if the one they are selling is the old model with the newer motor (like what is being discounted at Hartville) and they replied "This is the older model of the Kapex".  Knowing that some of those have the newer motor I again asked if it had the newer motor.  The reply back was "This is the older model Kapex."  A tempting deal to say the least (some have speculated it was a batch (or several batches) of motors, but I will pass on the deal...although I almost pulled the trigger.  Also kudos to the Festool Recon department with their fast replies. I have had nothing but great products through the recon site.  I know some have not, but I have been very pleased.

Flex vac is now listed at $399.

Hopefully they will ship prior orders and not cancel. Fingers crossed.

I'm sorry , but this is just inexcusable.

1. Do they not know what they are selling ?
2. Are they delibertly selling a product they know is prone to trouble without repairing it with their supposed fix ?
3. Even worse is they're only offering a one year warranty on this turkey.

Shame on Festool for this.  They need to be doing a better job given the Kapex history.

Hopefully the marketplace will show them their error.  But, I doubt it.

FWIW - I just used the Acme Tools' Cyber Monday promo (15% Off Max $100) to buy a Nova Viking.

Free shipping but I did pay Texas sales tax.

The promo does not work with the Nova Voyager.

You might try asking them what tool number they are selling.  If it starts with 100...then I believe it’s the new motor EB (“old”) model.  If the tool number starts with 495...then I believe it’s the old motor EB (“old”) model.  Both are the “old” EB (vs new REB) kapex.

I purchased the kapex on sale at Hartville, spoke to the festool reps there and they told me it has the new motor and that the kapex has had the new motor for years now.  But its still an issue because it was a big problem that it carries a stigma with it now.  So from festool, the old model kapex comes with the new updated motor and has been for a few years now.

Im willing to bet festool recon is treated almost like a separate company and because of that, they probably don’t have their highest skilled employees working it.

And they are offering a one year warranty because its supposedly used.  I got a 3 year warranty on my brand new old model kapex that i purchased last week for $999  I don’t know how people can complain about a 1 year warranty on used goods.  How many other companies offer this kind of warranty on used equipment? Maybe 30-90 days at best.   If you want a 3 year warranty, buy the kapex new from a retailer that has it on sale.

Think you've missed my point.

I'm saying festool is being disingenuous by not stating openly what motor is in the kapex they are offering re-cond . Additionally, they are adding to the insult by not fixing the problem before they re-sell the defective tool before it goes back out.

And, piling on top of both those, they are putting pretty much all the risk to the naive customer.  Shame, shame.  All of this for something they know is an issue.

I'm fine with a reduced warranty for a used or repaired tool - as long as it's been repaired properly.  When you KNOWINGLY look the other way on substandard work - there's a problem .

Even low skilled employees parrot what their handlers tell them to.  This looks like a conscience decision to cast shade from the same people that designed a poor motor, then tried to deny there was an issue, then blamed the users.    We're all adults , and most people realize there's always a bit of caveat emptor in place; but people should be given all the facts openly in my view.
