Well, this was expected...

But I have to say I get a chuckle out of the fact that they are increasing the price on something that has been discontinued in Europe - namely the CMS.

Ya, I noticed that clamp just hanging in the air...But what really surprised me was the price increase on a discontinued product.   [dead horse]

Oh, so that's what those things are for!

My arms were getting really tired holding my 1400 under the CMS table.  [big grin]

Correct, no increases for the TS/HK or rails. Some of the rail accessories are going up as much as $10 and some of the track saw accessories as much as $15.

If you hit the link in my OP, you can search the price list by keyword. If it's not on the list, there's no price increase. There are also notes on product pages on our website for every item seeing an increase to make it easy to shop before the prices go up.

Thanks for the clarification @Shane Holland. Nice to see no changes in price for guide rails, clamps, and saw blades. The spare collets for the OF1010 going from $38 to $44 and the little crevice nozzle from $6 to $10 are not awful; still enough of a reason to buy sooner than later.

A quick reminder to order now to get your best prices on Festool before the price increase on April 1st. A little over a week remaining.

Curious... How is the current economic conditions and situation with the virus affecting your business (for those who use tools for a living) and your purchasing decisions?

I think I am in a wait and see...not sure it makes a ton of sense to drop lots of money on tools right now given everything. I would love to get an STM cutting table on order, but will likely miss out on that deal.

Thanks for sharing that, Scot. I can certainly understand the wait and see approach. I'm sure you're not alone and expected this would be the sentiment on the forum.

Hopefully this thread helps some folks save a few bucks, even if it's on a box of sandpaper.

I've been following the impact on tradespeople across the country over the last few weeks. Many are reporting that they are considered essential businesses for infrastructure in shelter-in-place states and able to stay operational.

I'm personally very hopeful that life will get back to normal sooner rather than later. Stay safe out there everyone.

I find it a little distasteful that Festool is still going forward with their annual increase during these times.  I have no issue with them increasing prices, it's business, but delaying would be the better optic.

During this time of uncertainty with all kinds of businesses battered in an unimaginable magnitude except those which have seen stronger demand for their services (grocery stores, etc.), I find that tool price increases announced prior to the crisis are totally acceptable, and they should go ahead as every dollar counts for the vendors, more than ever. The only exception is if the tools or items in question are needed by the healthcare/non-profit buyers or authorities for dealing with the crisis, saving lives, etc.

For those of us who are lucky enough to have the spare money or budget, and need or want something all along, there is no better time than now to get them to support our favorite merchants and vendors, many of which could be facing an existential economic threat. Some of our tool spending now could also be saving someone's job. In my country, in just one week, more than half a million of people had lost their jobs...and counting (probably another half a million jobs have been lost as I write).

Stay home, stay safe.

A message from Festool USA regarding the price increase ---

Quote
At Festool, our priority during this critical period, especially, is on the health and well-being of our employees, our dealers and our customers. We know these are uncertain times for individuals and businesses. From the threat of COVID-19 to economic disruptions and uncertainties, we are responding quickly and maintaining our key priorities: first, to protect the people who count on us.

As we continue to prioritize the people who make Festool great, we also seek to bring stability to the business marketplace. To do so, at this time we are enacting a price freeze on all Festool products, extending Festool’s marketplace-pricing that has now been in place for two years. This price freeze includes suspension of any forecasted price increases that were to be implemented for April 2020.

Thank you for your patience and support during these challenging times.

I don't see it as necessary, but it is a nice gesture. Someone in management must be still reading the FOG.

Does this mean one can delay ordering the new table?

@JimH2 there have been no modifications for the order deadline of the STM 1800 at this time. I would expect that, if there was going to be a change to that, it would have been communicated at the same time as the change to the price increase or delivery of the Kapex promo and CT 15.
