Gday MFTC gurus,
Would anyone have a way to contact Tim?
I purchased the plans a couple of days ago and when I received the email with the link I downloaded the zip file.
But when I attempt to open it winrar give an error and said the zip was corrupted.
So I downloaded again, and again, corrupted.

I tried another pc and had the same result. Now I’m getting the message “ Sorry but you have hit your download limit for this file.”

I emailed Tim but he must be busy on the farm.

Can anyone help me contact Tim?

Thanks Jasen , I did try 7zip today and I could see that there were 2 files inside. A PDF and a jpg.
I was able to extract the jpg which was the template for the cutout at the bottom but the PDF would not extract and gave an error. I did notice that the 3 copies of the zip file were all different sizes and the one I was able to get the jpg extract from was the biggest at 2.9mb. If someone could even tell me what size the zip file is. When I downloaded the zip file chrome would not tell me what size the file was been downloaded.
I will try emailing Tim again, I hope he checks his emails regularly as I really love to start building the MFTC this weekend. Thanks in advance.

The PDF file I received is 4.4MB. (MFTC-ENG-IMP.pdf).  There was a jpg file and a sketchup file in the zip.

I've been wanting to purchase the combo pack for a while and this thread revival reminded me.

It could easily have been a stupid move considering it reportedly didn't work recently, but I just purchased the USA version and all the files opened successfully on my computer.

I used 7-Zip to unzip the files and used Adobe Reader to open the PDF files.  It works just fine for me!

Thanks doug H, no sketchup file which means the download was incomplete for some reason!
I just have to be a patient am hope Tim looks at he emails soon.

Looking forward to using my new TS55 and the parf guide v2 on the build which I got for my birthday.  [big grin]

Thanks again

G'Day Guys,

I sent Tim 3 emails about still have not received a reply.
So I just paid for the plans again and this time they downloaded without issue.

The Zip file is 4.9mb and has 3 files, PDF , JPG and the sketchup file. just for anyone who needs it

The first time I tried to download the zip at work, so my work firewall/antivirus must have done something.

Thanks to everyone who replied.

Hello friends,

I have tried to reach timothy many times in the last month. I've sent money for  metric plans and got an email which I found too late in my spam folder, so that the link was expired. Nevertheless I payed again for the plans, hoping he looks at his PP account.
Anybody an idea to get in contact with him or how to get the plans ?

Thx

Jochen

Can someone tell me the height of the mftc, when the table top is folded up ? I would like to know, if my van is tall enough to let it stand upright, inside.

Thanks

The cart as designed by Timothy is 1263mm.  I needed mine to be a little shorter to fit in my truck so I modified the pivot point.  You can see pics in my post:  Gunnyr MFTC  My cart is reduced to a height of 1215mm it fit upright in my Silverado with a mid-height ARE Commercial Cap.  You could also use smaller wheels to further reduce the height if needed, or possibly make the top totally removeable.

I'm about to order the plans, but came across this thread and see some are having difficulty with the download link. Has anyone bought them recently and know if this is still an issue or just user error? I see on Tim's YouTube channel that he's gone full on organic farmer and doesn't look at email very often (totally jealous of that lifestyle...trying myself to detach a bit) so hopefully I don't have to try to contact him.

Cheers,
Matt

I just ordered the combo plans the other day and no luck. I ordered the English version not USA and nothing in my email. Tried emailing Tim and no response either, if anyone can help me out that would be appreciated I can show proof of purchase.

I sooo wish you would post a build video every now and then (wishful thinking on my part). I understand that you have the family farm to take care of now, its just me wishing. Always enjoyed your to the point builds and setups. Keep it up and I hope you are tinkering in your shop every now and then to keep the hobby alive.

Cheers

I just ordered the plans the other day with no download link or email. So I contacted Tim to try to have him send me the zip file, no luck yet. Tried to just buy another set and see if that would work but still didn't work.   I really don't Tim keep the 20$usd but I just want the plans! Please can someone send me the Zip file so I can start building this thing? I can show my receipt of both purchases.

Same here, ordered the plans and no luck getting it via mail, no response on mail either. Really just want the plans as these are the only ones that come close to quality for building one of those cart type solutions. Trying not to spend too much on materials finding it out myself.

Timothy hasn't been on the FOG since October 2019.  In the 2 December 2018 blog on his website, he wrote he is quitting woodworking to devote his time to the farm and his family.

https://benchworks.be/en/news/i-quit-woodworking/

Here are some key points from his last blog entry:

"In order to be eligeable for subsidies, I need to have my main income coming from farming, and the farm is simply too big, if only in terms of paper work. And since becoming a father in 2017 I don’t want to work 10-12 hours a day, every day like I used to."

"In practice, next year I will very likely stop entirely taking on orders for my woodworking business, I do however intend to go out with a bang and do something to transmit to others the knowledge I built up through the years, especially in terms of making goldsmith work benches."

"And an apology to all those for who I wasn’t able to respond, especially during the summer months. At some point I had over 10.000 unread mails and just couldn’t keep up (though most were notifications)"

His replies to reader's comments about his announcement was on 6 December 2018, and he has not posted since.

I've seen that posted before, or at least others have mentioned that he's out of "the game".

That said, if a person isn't going to fulfill orders any longer, they should either open-source the plans and make them freely available, or shut down the storefront.

I feel bad every time I see someone come on the FOG and their first (and sometimes only) post is in this thread asking why they haven't gotten their plans yet.

Surely he hasn't completely dropped off the face of the earth and someone can still get in touch with him.

Compare to Oliver who, when he quit the game, took everything offline including de-registering his websites.  I don't think he had anything for sale on his web presence, but at least he made sure that something like that couldn't happen if he did.

I agree.  Maybe a Moderator will edit Timothy's posts by removing the links to his unresponsive website.

Tim did win a Festool contest back in 2013.  The prize was every new Festool tool for life.  Hopefully he is just busy using his tools.

Yeah bit of a shame but I get if you want to move on to something else. He must get quite a few paypal disputes so I don't understand why they haven't shut his site purchases down already?
I started building it regardless and have the mobile cart and Mft ready just need a clever way to attach the table and route/cut holes to store the tracks as I move around. Sort of blew it, as his design has the drawers opening towards you as you pull the cart to engage the wheels, so I can only access my systainers when the table is in work mode. It seems like his design is incredibly thought through and not very intuitive while you're building it but makes sense when it's all said and done. Too bad he won't just sell his plans through TSO or some site that just automates the download service.

Hi! So I saw the plans, loved the plans, bought the 4 pack which includes the tool cart (MFTC) and 2 other things.

Only after I buy the plans and get a link that doesn't work and email and wait a week did I find this thread.

Would anyone here who has the plans be willing to email them to me? I already paid the website for the plans, and I can provide the reciept; I'm not attempting to 'steal' from the plan designer but I just really wanted to build both these items.

Thanks so much!

I am glad I stumbled on this thread this afternoon as well. I was within seconds of buying the plans before lunch. If the link truly is not working I would be interested in a copy of the plans as well. Willing to pay for them. If someone could send me a PM with some information I would very much appreciate it.

Hello guys,

has anyone adapted the plans of the MTFC for L-Boxx? I would also be interested to know whether the worktop can also be removed for transport.

Thanks

I bought one of the combo plans in October and received everything as expected, so perhaps there is an issue with just the MFTC plans?

I’m well into building mine now and as my systainers are mostly of the new type, I was sad to see such a height increase leaving one less systainer in the carcass when finished.

That said, can’t wait to work on this table in the near future!
