I just know it as a pallet jack wheel...I bought it because it is listed at a non-marking material. I have been a situation previously where something I was using left black smudges randomly all over the work area.

Here's my version of the MFTC.

I modified the attachment of the top pivot point so that it would drop down a couple inches when closed. I needed the clearance so that the cart would fit underneath the cap in my pick up truck.

The modification to the top pivot also meant that I needed to adjust the location of the shelf. This allowed me to set the shelf high enough to put my CT-26 beneath it.

I love having the cart on the job site! It seems that I can never have too many work surfaces available.

@gunnyr that looks great! I got the plans from Tim recently (along with the MFSC)- was planning on starting soon, but now I have customer orders that are going to keep me busy for a while (good news, bad news situation). Hopefully get to them late spring or summer.

One question- did you also make the extensions?

@Gerald_D and @Dick Mahany Thank you for your kind words. It was a fun project. Like others have noted the plans @Timtool created are very precise, you can cut all pieces from the plans and assemble. Beware if you decide to make changes like I did. When creating the new pivot for the top I did not realize the impact it would have on the shelf until later.

I did not make the extensions. I already have a Paulk Workbench that I use on site so I don't currently see the need for them, nor do I have the space to transport them. I'm not ruling them out though!

I don't have the footprint of my cart but the Sketchup file shows it to be 510mm D x 570mm W, in my case the folded height was reduced to 1215mm, about 40mm shorter than the plans.

For the legs I used the 6-inch Steel Furniture Legs with Leveling Screw Polished Chrome from Glide Rite Hardware. I used replacement lawnmower wheels from Home Depot and used 1/2" Stainless bolts for the axles.

Thank you for the info. I agree that Tim's plans are well designed and documented and I recently purchased his Multifunction cart plans even though I don't have room for it im my shop. I guess I'll order a set of the MFTC plans as I just might be able manage one of these and they look so versatile. I appreciate the heads-up on shelf position impact for the mods you made. I have a CT36 which is just a little taller and will need to think about that a little.

does anyone know what has happened to Timothy? I had mail contact with him some month ago but after I transferred the money he is not answering mail anymore. Also he is not updating his homepage anymore?
Does anyone know an alternative source to purchase his plans?

I seem to recall that Timothy is a farmer. I have word that Germany has been very wet this summer. Perhaps the same is true in Belgium as well. With crops to be harvested, the weather could keep all involved very busy. I hope that is the problem and not something more painful.

just joined having purchased the plans yesterday, looking forward to getting started. I'm also looking to adapt the MFTC into a portable router table / table saw trolley ...

Also just wanted to point out that, in mainland Europe, August is traditionally the summer holiday season. This might explain Tim's absence. He might be on his hols.

I am done except putting finish on the extensions and cutting the sacrificial fillers for them. Rockler's had push release full extension slides which worked well on the drawers. I used Incra track which was pretty deep. It works with Festool sliding clamps. i think when I replace this top I will go to a 3/4" material, because there are some bench dogs that work better with 3/4 " thick material. It was a cool project and now I am planning to do the adjustable height multi function cart. I made my first threaded wooden insert to see if I would need to go with the carriage bolts instead, but I think I can make the wooden option.

I have yet to cut and install the sacrificial strips that will be the same height as the main work table.

Tim did win a Festool contest back in 2013. The prize was every new Festool tool for life. Hopefully he is just busy using his tools.
