I was putting new trim around some windows this weekend. I needed to bring my Kapex up from the basement up to the second floor to trim out the windows. So I picked it up off my cart carried it up hill to my front door then upstairs.  And then I past out! I need to make the saw easily transported/ mobile. I am looking for pictures if someone has already done it. If not I will design something this week. Please let me know and see if you have already made something.

It sounds like you need some sort of stair dolly.  This one has some nice features:

“Self made is well made” is a saying.
There may not be too many ways to transport a chop saw up and down stairs. I think the two suggestions here are among what best can do.
If you can afford the UG cart (wings are optional and maybe not relevant for you) it is a very good solution. It is small enough to fit into a recessed place with ie a worktop on each side. Yet easy to remove and move elsewhere.

Unfortunatly the UG cart is designed for short buggers. I'm 6'4" and unless I walk stooped over the cart keeps trying to readjust my ankles. 

An extension handle would be a big improovement.

They don’t think of us “the flag poles”.. I’m too over 6’.. But in my experience the odd working table is lower than Festool’s. Overall it’s 90 cm work height is not too bad.

And yes, the Kapex 60 is the one you really want, if to be moved a lot. I did also, but needed the capacity of the 120 (and use of the 120x60mm special cut depth) I’m still drooling on a KS 60 though..

I'll hang fire til they make the 60 cordless.

Oh yes.. Though, I noticed when Makita released a teaser with their new 40V system, there was a new miter saw. But I have seen none since then. I think I saw a very compact, yet feature rich saw. I looked a bit like a bigger version of the DLS600:
