I made a custom MFT style router table for my OF2200 and Woodpecker's Super Fence  :)

I'm still waiting for my CMS sliding table to arrive for routing end grain on narrow stock but I'm really excited to finally have something close to a CMS table :)

I learned after assembling that the Kreg router table switch will not work with the OF2200 but that's okay... I'll have to make the most of what I've got since I couldn't grab a CMS.

What do you think? Any way I can make this better? I'll post finished pics when all the other parts arrive.

I have the T-track running parallel to the fence in position so that I could expand the dado to convert it from a t-track only insert to a combo t-track + miter fence track.   I already have the Festool miter fence for the CMS sliding table so I think I'll just wait for the sliding table to get here and forego adding the miter fence track. I might add one more t-track a bit closer to the router fence between the 2nd and 3rd row of holes in the table. It will be nice to have more options when setting up infeed/outfeed horizontal feather boards for different width material.

With the length of that table and the weight of the 2200, I might add a couple stiffeners to the under side running parallel to the fence and an inch or so outside the opening for the plate.

Came to post this; without some bracing underneath, that table will sag over time. And as much as I love festool, the 2200 is a waste in a router table. I use a bosch 1617evs in an incra mast r lift II in mine, though you can use one of the bigger 3 1/4HP motors (milwaukee, triton, spincraft, etc.) if needed. I built my own fence, but the woodpecker looks nice.

I'm not sure I agree 100% with this. I would love a system where I could easily swap the 2200 between table and hand-held. The 2200 is one smooth, quiet powerful machine. The part I do agree with is that locking the 2200 into full-time router table work is a bit of a tragedy.

Another thing to consider is actually attaching the sliding table to the MFT.

The CMS has a different profile and threaded holes to screw the Sliding Table to the CMS itself.  There are brackets you can purchase for the MFT that accomplish this task at the price of something like $40 each.  You can also fabricate your own brackets for this task as I have found on other postings here on the FOG (I just don't have them handy to link to right now).

This is definitely in my longer term plans! I knew this would become an issue from researching this idea on this forum and other place. I anticipated the deflection and cut the table top with the crown upwards on the cnc table so hopefully it will be okay over the next week or two while I get a long term solution.

I have a few ironworker buddies who I could work with to make to custom spanners that have some machine screws running vertically through them that I could adjust for removing deflection over time as needed.

I get what you're saying about it being a waste but for right now it's the tool I have so I'm making the most of it! I need to run a ton of shiplap & T&G and it's just not possible to get good results by hand. This table will be really versatile for the type of custom stuff I do but I will definitely look into a longer term replacement like the triton you suggested (saw that many places when researching for this project).

I saw this when researching the idea and appreciate you telling me about the brackets, I didn't realize there was some that are pre-fabbed. I assumed I'd be getting into some metal work to make this work for my application.

It's just two mounting screws holding it to the router plate and the phenolic base snaps on with the spring loaded lock on the router base. I bet I could convert from table to hand routing in less than two minutes.

That sounds ideal to me.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to; locking it to full time router table work. I use my router table a ton, so taking the motor out when I needed to hand rout something would get old for me pretty fast.

If it's what you have, definitely do what works best for you; again I was in the mindset of locking the router to the table full time. I'm sure the 2200 will handle T&G easily.

I don't have a 2200 to examine, but I would be concerned that the base plate locking system might not have the necessary strength upside-down. When working at Woodcraft, I demonstrated that feature often, but never thought to look if the lock was sturdy enough for under a table.

Here's a link to a video with an update! The machine screws holding the base to the router plate are super sturdy, it's not going anywhere.

I added an electric scissor jack to make help moving the router into position.

I'm going to add a box that goes under the downdraft box that spreads the spanners between the MFT legs to prevent sag from the table top.

$85 for the two parts! I love it. Wish it had an even finer adjustment but it’s a pretty cheap workaround.

Regarding table reinforcement I inserted a cradle support made from 60mm X 30mm aluminium extrusion to support an OF1400 and a JessEm router lift in the MFT … this led me down the 80/20 rabbit hole and building a new bench out of profiles … the OF2200 was supported on a similar cradle …
