just got mine used it all day never once was it out of square unlike the woodpecker one easy to attach and no adjustments needed

Bessey sell both a straight clamp and ratchet clamp identical to the festoon versions for rail/table use. GTR16S6H for the ratchet

I use the bessey clamps and they are great, and around half of the festool price.

I have heard the Festool clamps will not work for a 1 inch thick MDF table with the MFT/3 hole pattern...(guess the festoon table is not as thick). Will the Bessey ratchets work with a 1 inch deep top?

The clamps have a very hard right angle rather than a "swept" or rounded corner, so they can only rotate around a certain thickness when they go into a top... if that makes sense? If I'm not mistaken Festool tables are 3/4" thick. My temporary MFT is 3/4" chipboard and the clamps work in it just fine. I tried putting some 1/4" mdf around a hole while putting a bessey clamp in and out and it doesn't work. The outside of the "elbow" needs more width in the hole to go through the top, and without weakening the corner by lopping off material, it'll never go through.

EDIT: Just wanted to say, if you're stuck with a 1" top you just need to look for stuff that doesn't rely on the bottom of the table for grip. Veritas has a solution that isn't cheap but I'm sure someone else must as well. If you consider the full cost of making the system work I suspect it'd be easier to replace a 1" top with a 3/4" one and go with the more standard accessories

Works fine with 1" top of you just put a slight chamfer or roundover on the underside.

Both of my MFT table tops are 1" thick Baltic Birch plywood.

It's been mentioned but I am happy to report CMT bits work on my Domino XL. My Bosch 5 meter hose also connects to the Domino fine and my Rigid shop vac is pulling the chips out fine.

I was on the lookout for some festool-compatible vacuum stuff... for cleanup around the shop I don't think festool's cheaper offerings are worth the price and the bosch version (VAC011) suffers from the same limitations (tiny floor nozzle, tubes are narrow).

I think I finally found the right price/performance compromise - the Ridgid Heavy-Duty Cleaning Kit. For a guy like me who just works in the shop, I don't need another systainer and the tubes are always connected and ready to go anyways. The 36mm fits snugly over the end of the metal tube, and for a really secure fit (although it might distort the hose-end) there's a bump on the metal wand to really grab the vacuum hose. All of the accessories go right over the end of the hose, and as an extra benefit it contained an adapter that perfectly mates my 36mm hose to my sawstop TS guard. The floor nozzle is nice and wide.

For $80CAD I'm a happy camper!

Seems that the bessey ratcheting clamps are no longer the bargain that they were in 2018...

sorry , but a plug cutter does the exact opposite of a tenon cutter.

I bought these $4.00 bar clamps from Harbor Freight. I ground off the dimple at the end of the bar and that allows the clamping ratchet to be removed. I also ground a chamfer on the end of the bar to make insertion back in the ratchet mechanism easier.

I slip off the ratchet end, and fit the bar through a hole in the MFT-like top I made, and then reattach the ratchet. This is a medium duty to light duty clamp, but it is perfect as a hold-down.

The modification took about 5 minutes with a bench grinder. A right angle grinder would work also.
