I just picked up a Bosch VAC005, 35mm x 16' vacuum hose. The small end fits nice and snug in the dust port on my 55REQ. The big end fits in the 2 1/4" inlet on my 16 gal Ridgid shop vac, as well as a 2 1/4"-4" adapter for my dust collector. The hose is fairly flexible and the tool end rotates to help keep the hose from twisting up. I've never used Festools hose, so I can't do a comparison. For $35 with free shipping on Amazon, it think it's a good alternative to the Festool hose for $150. Unfortunately, the tool end of the hose is about 1/8" too small to fit over the dust ports on my Bosch 6" r.o. or my Bosch pad sanders. Way to go Bosch! Guess that's another use for Gorilla tape.
I got that same hose it is a quality hose for sure @ a fraction of the cost of the same size Festool hose .

This D36 to D27 tool end hose adapter is well made and fits well for both cleaning tool attachments and tool ports. The fit into the D36 hose is really tight. The fit on the tool ports seemed a little loose at first but is a good strong connection when pushed all the way on. Certainly handy to have.

Is this a Festool part? If so, what is the item number? I'm interested in picking up one of these.

The part is not a Festool part.  It is made by Clark to allow their hose to adapt to the Festool 27 mm tools.  You might also want to check out the 36 mm hose (25') on their ebay listing for $74.00.  Click on the link in Seth's post then on the ebay page check out "other listings".

Since I don't own a tool activated shop vac, I bought an iVac from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0035YGLZG/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1  Just plug your tool into one iVac outlet and the vacuum into the other. When you fire up your tool, the vacuum turns on and when you turn the tool off, the vac continues running for about 10 seconds. There are separate electrical cords for each outlet, so they can be run off of separate circuits. The box can be wall mounted near an outlet. BEWARE the breakers on the iVac are advertised on Amazon as 15 amp., on the unit they are marked 12 amp. Using my 55REQ and 16 gallon, 12 amp Ridgid shop vac, the iVac is performing perfectly. The cons, the box is plastic, not metal and the breakers are only 12 amp. I would definitely recommend this product.

Woodpeckers has just announced a set of DF 500 Domino Depth Sleeves.

Of course, you could easily make your own from 1/2" copper or PVC pipe, a hacksaw, a disc sander and calipers. I don't see the need for one for every 32nd of an inch, since they are stackable. They point this out this feature for the shims, but not for the sleeves. A reduced set of 1/64, 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2" would give you any depth less than 1" that you needed to the nearest 1/64".

I don't think I understand why the stops are in imperial units, but the shims are in metric units.

There is no mention of plans for developing a set for the DF 700 XL.

What about the Oneida Dust Deputy for the Festool vacs?  Are those still around?  I don't have one but I seem to remember reading something about an issue with them at one time.

I use Fein flexible adapters to connect my Festools to my three Fein vacs.  I have the step adapters on my RO90, DTS400, RTS400, RTS 125, and my Bosch 250DEVS and Makita BO4900V, 9031, 9924, and 9404 sanders.  I cut off the smallest step and they fit on the dust port perfectly.  I also use the flexible straight connector for many other adaptations.  I always keep extras of each for tinkering.  As far as the Oneidas, I have two of the metal ones and despite cutting both wood and plastics on a regular basis, I have yet to find dust in my vacs.

To answer teocaf, yes, Oneida still offers the Ultimate Dust Deputy II. Amazon lists it, and according to the reviews, it still has some serious problems.

http://www.amazon.com/Oneida-Ultimate-Dust-Deputy-II/dp/B003VR65OE/ref=cm_cr_pr_pb_t

While I've got your attention, the Fein Step Adaptor, #921072K13, connects my CT26 hose to the blade guard on my SawStop.

The Ultimate Dust Deputy shown on Amazon is the previous generation before they upgraded to the static conductive system.

Oneida provided me with all of the parts to upgrade my UDD and I don't have any static discharge issues.

A new item from Multiblades for the Carvex. An adapter plate to allow the attachment of custom bases.

Mulitblades has discontinued the Collin's coping base for Carvex  since Collin's is now making one.

Hope this is helpful to member HCoyote, re: Clamp Caddy.  One of the links in Seth's list is Seneca Woodworking.  They sell solid aluminum dogs with a mounting "platform" on which you can mount Bessey Toggle Clamps (or others).  Included is sturdy knob with threaded bolt and large washer to secure from underside of the MFT.   I have the Kreg Bench Klamps and the Seneca dogs work great with my hold-downs.

Bringing this to England last year cost about £36 including freight and all import costs. Amazing value.

I concur re. fitting well on the 55, and it also goes on the OF 1010.
MY Bosch sander is the blue 5 incher, and getting any info out of Bosch about dc fittings is like pulling teeth from a tiger on crack.
I finally found a straight coupler on Amazon UK which is definitely the correct part,

Bosch 1600499005 Power Tool Connector To Hose - currently £2.49 & FREE Delivery in the UK

though it doesn't say so on the packaging

Meanwhile, the adapter that Bosch/Amazon tout as correct for random orbit sanders is some oval-assed thing that couldn't possibly fit this - and according to reviews, nothing else either..

adapter - full review

That hose is not anti-static.

Of course that doesn't matter unless the tool and vac are both anti-static, so if you aren't leveraging the "system" but simply using a Festool tool with a 3rd party vac, the anti-static feature wouldn't work for you anyway.

Even if the hose were anti-static, I suspect it would be lost with that adapter too.

Of course you are correct. However...

I'm in England, sir. The average humidity here makes static a potential problem for about three days every February.

This D36 to D27 tool end hose adapter is well made and fits well for both cleaning tool attachments and tool ports. The fit into the D36 hose is really tight. The fit on the tool ports seemed a little loose at first but is a good strong connection when pushed all the way on. Certainly handy to have.

(Attachment Link) if you cannot find the Festool one, Makita makes one for there vac. It's antistatic and available on Amazon.

Is this a Festool part? If so, what is the item number? I'm interested in picking up one of these.

Quick question about this website, what exactly are the 4b upgrade bench dogs they have listed for. Is that some type of micro adjust fence system to use in your MFT. I know I have seen a few on the form in the last few months, but I am very Interested in what these dogs are for exactly and how they are exactly used. It sucks I cannot read much on the site I hope our German friends here can.

Roughly into English:
This is intended for precise set ups for clamping, sawing and planing. You can screw selfmade jigs to the square parts to clamp curved shapes or do bends (lamination). The four clamping units with attachable inner corners facilitate glue ups of mitered frames.

Hope this helps.

I looked at the site.  There are four clamps that look somewhat like Lee Valley's Wonder dogs.
They apparently cannot be tightened once inserted into the bench holes.  Do they have to be preset before put into place?  If so, I don't see how pressure can be applied without damaging the threads at the outer ends once in place?

@Tayler_mann
@Tinker
I believe they can be adjusted with a hex screwdriver/allen wrench.  One end of the threaded rod has a hex socket hole.  The other end "free slides" into the brass receiver on the 'clamp'  Unfortunately in the 4B picture, the one that's most visible, looks like he's mounted it backwards.  The other three that are shown in shadow seem to show the hex socket hole in the end of the threaded rod.  In the description (third checkmark down): 4X M10 X 100mm Edelstahl Gewindestifte mit Inbus (Innensechskant) can be translated as: 4X M10 X 100mm stainless steel screws with hexagon socket ( Allen )

http://marxing.de/produkte/mightydog-set-4b-upgrade/

It would definitely be good for the mfg to show these in an actual setup or two, and perhaps a short video--'picture's worth a thousand words' and all that...

added EDIT:
if you click on the last checkmark in the descriptions, the one in red, that's a link that takes you to a series of pictures of options, and the various setups are indeed shown more clearly (13th pic down shows this setup)

Most of the Makita's TS, vac, 1/2 sanders & their accessories are compatible with Festool's products,  but some will need slight modification.  Festool's parallel guide will not work with Makita's tracks, but Seneca's will work with both.  So of the rail stop that Festool has need slight change to work on the Makita track.
