TS(C) 55 R base place / sole plate adjustment
« on: April 21, 2021, 09:11 AM »
Hi all,

I recently got replacements for my old saws, in the forms of a TSC 55 REB for my MFT/3, and a TS 55 REBQ for my CMS-TS 55 module.

In the old saws, the base plate could be loosened with screws accessible from the TOP of the saw - there are even some older YouTube videos and threads here about correct alignment, etc.

How the heck do I perform the alignment when in the new saws the two back screws are located under the saw, on the base plate, with no access from the top? (The two front screws have access from the bottom and top - top via Torx 8.) So yes, I can loosen them all, put the TSC on the rail, align it with a paper's thickness of toe-in as advised, tighten the front two... and then what? The back of the base plate still has a lot of movement even if the front screws are tight. The moment I lift the saw, the back moves before I can screw it in place.

Any advice welcome.

Best wishes,
Peter.

Sorry for pushing this up to the top, but (you know a "but" always comes after a "sorry"), so but, I fail to believe that nobody on this forum has fiddled around with the base plate of the TS(C) 55. There are good reasons for it, like setting the toe-in of the blade accurately, or like fitting your new saw to an old track without needing to change the chip-guard-strip-thing, whatever it's called, or like needing to set your blade after dropping or bumping the saw, or like just wanting to unscrew four screws that just scream for it. Nobody?

Hi,

Thanks so much for that - they just went along and discussed everything without me, while I wasn't lookin' ;-)

Cheers
Peter.
